Up for bids is a very clean Hickok model 600 dynamic mutual conductance tube tube tester in good working condition. The case is in much better than average condition. The cover has a few nicks but overall looks great. The latches and hinges have a small amount of corrosion due to age but are in good working order. The handle is strong and firmly attached to the case. Internally. The roll chart thumbwheel turns with ease, chart information is crisp/clear and the factory grid/plate test lead with cap is intact. All control switches. Push buttons and the mutual conductance meter function as they should. The power cord is flexible and the plug has no issues. I tested several tubes on my calibrated TV-7/U, then used a conversion chart to obtain their mutual conductance(Gm) The same tubes were then tested on the Hickock 600. The readings were either very close or the same. The 6L6 shown being tested in the second picture tested at 40 on my TV-7/U(5000 Gm) The picture shows the same results obtained on the Hickock. I have included lots of pictures so click on any one to enlarge it and get a better look at this very nice Hickok 600 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. While this tube tester is in good working condition. E xperienced tube aficionados understand every tester has its own personality. No guarantee is made as to its accuracy. SECO M107 TUBE TESTER
This is a working. Functional SECO Model 107 tube tester for the mid 1950's. I will test for Dynamic Mutual Conductance, Emissions and it will perform a couple different, fairly complex tests for grid leakage and shorts. Includes tube chart(booklet) and any of the other owners paperwork I have(pictured) The plate cap lead had to be removed because it was dry rotted. if you want to use to to test tubes with plate/grid cap connection you would have to replace that, which fairly simple. Supreme Model 599 A 599A Vacuum Tube Battery Set Tester, Fixed Tested ALL WORKS
Here is a repaired. Recapped and fully working, very vintage, Supreme 599A Tube& Set Tester. I fixed and calibrated the tube emission test section of the instrument. The tube tester works well. The meter movement is very nice and all tube sockets(except the Hytron) were tested. The sockets are all tight with no intermittents. I didn't check the noise test because I don't have the right headphones. The short/ leakage test works fine. This tester will do a good job of testing older tubes including 4-pins such as 01A. It does not have a 9-pin subminiature socket. So it won't test any of those newer tubes. I fixed the set tester section of this instrument. But did not calibrate the set tester. The set tester includes an AC/ DC Volt Meter, DC milliamp meter, Ohm meter, dB output meter and battery tester. I checked every function ... moreand range, and surprisingly the instrument is in the ball park. Probably not far off from where it started in terms of accuracy. which wasn't all that great to begin with. Aside from the battery tester, every tech would probably reach for their DMM first. Included is a bound copy of two tube test charts. Less Popular/ Obsolete and Supplement 248A. Also included is a schematic and operating instructions for the Supreme 589A. The 589A is just like this tester without the Volt-Ohm-Milliamp(VOM) or dB meter. It's got the tube and battery testers which are the parts you're most likely to use. You'll have to figure out how to use the VOM& dB meter on your own. It's not that hard. The case isn't great. But it's still in one piece and solid. The latch and hinges are good but the original leather strap handle is missing. The grid cap is very nice and wire is new. the back panel of the case is warped where the original battery was mounted. I replaced the battery holder. This unit isn't 100% original because I replaced what was missing or not working. The faceplate is in pretty good condition with only minor marks. The Hickok 799 Mustang is Hickok's only Solid State tube tester that they produced. This particular unit has had one upgrade which is a new capacitor on the meter. The one removed was good and will be included. The tester is calibrated per the calibration instructions and works perfect. The unit itself is in great condition as you can see in the pictures. The Hickok 799 Mustang includes the instruction manual(dated 1965) and tube data that is in addition to the tube data on the unit itself. The tester does measure micromhos but does not provide a direct number for micromhos and uses a good and bad scale for Gm with numbers up to 1000. You can still match tubes ... morewith this unit. The tube being tested in the pictures is a 6L6 calibration tube with 5475 Gm. The P1 button tests tubes for Gm that should have a reading up to 5000 micromhos and the P2 button tests tubes for Gm that should have a reading up to 20.000 micromhos. EICO 625 Tube Tester, Repaired Recapped Calibrated Tested, Accurate All Works
The EICO 625 Tube Testers are easy to use. Accurate and reliable. That's what made them so popular. Another reason the EICO 625 was so popular is because it will test a lot of different tubes. And if the sockets it has aren't enough. Then adapters are available that will test almost every consumer tube ever made. This unit comes with a bound copy of the Instruction Manual. Assembly Manual and lots of test setup charts. One of the charts has an exhaustive list of tubes and includes tubes tested with an adapter. I repaired. Recapped, calibrated and tested this instrument. I cleaned the sockets and switch contacts. Everything works. The switches and sockets are tight and the meter is smooth and repeatable. It calibrates to line very nicely and identified my weak EL34. Good tubes tested good. Short and leakage indicator has a new neon ... morelamp and works well. The roll chart mechanism isn't the best I've seen but quite workable. It looks like the roll chart has sat for a long time in one position and one section of it has some dark spots. Everything is still very readable. On the plus side. This is the most recent roll chart I've ever seen. It's the EICO 625-10. It also has a green roll chart window. The window is nice, but I don't think it's an EICO original. The knobs and grid caps are in good shape. Overall this unit is clean. But has tarnish and marks. The faceplate also has marks. Precision Apparatus PACO 654 Tube, Battery & High Sensitivity Set Tester. WORKS
Here is a working PACO 654 Tube and High Sensitivity Set Tester. I tested a 6L6. 6BQ5(EL84) and a 6CA7(EL34) The test results were just as I expected(see pictures) Out of the 3 tubes, only the 6CA7 is weak and that's what this tester showed. I did not calibrate this unit but the results I saw were right. The tester seems to work. But the case is rough. Some lamination is coming apart, it's missing bottom feet. The hinges, handle and latches are solid and work fine. The grid caps are chipped and one of the lever knobs is the wrong type. It fits and works well though. The original pin grid cap was replaced with an alligator clip. The meter pointer is slightly bent. See pictures for details. I found the plastic roll chart window after shooting the pictures. The plastic window comes with the unit. It has some cracks and will have to be ... moreinstalled. The roll chart works great. I used the built-in battery tester to check 1.5. 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 Volt batteries. The battery tester works. I checked a leaky and a good capacitor using the COND. test function. It also worked correctly and identified the leaky condenser. I did not test the volt-ohm-amp function because I'm pretty sure those batteries are dead and a few are missing. Don't get me wrong. This tester is far from perfect. A few basic features were tested and they worked. I guarantee this tester won't be DOA. I don't guarantee that everything works perfectly and is in calibration. A unit this old will likely need some work. The 5Y3 tube tests weak. But this is not a demanding circuit and the tube works good enough in this application. For sale is this tube tester. I plug this in and put a tube in. I set it to all the right settings and the gage moved. It seems to work but I don't know a lot about this, so I'm selling it as is. Some of the green paint is coming off, it has some rust on the outside of the case. There's a couple dates on the Army Technical bulletin. The bulletin says Departments of the Army and the Air Force 16 October 1952, it also say this bulletin supersedes TB 11-2627-2, 11 June 1951, including C 1,31 January 1952. Here for considering is a vintage Hickok Model 752 Tube Tester. This tester comes with its original manual. And the accessories that were left in the rear storage compartment of the case. I am offering this as-is, because I am not sure if it is fully functional. It does power up, and I did a line test, and it does work as well(photo 3) All the knobs and buttons do function properly. The roll chart is present, and there are no issues with it. It does scroll up and down, with no problems. The tubes that are with the other accessories are untested, so I am not sure if they are good or not. But they came with this, and will stay with it, if sold. Overall, this is in cosmetically good shape. The metal protective corner pieces, latches, etc. do have surface rust. Latches and handle are intact, and do function properly. All 539 series testers that I have owned or seen have always been in a black cloth covered. Wooden cabinet; This is the only one I have ever seen in a metal cabinet. It is a very late version for the date on the roll chart is 1972. This is the cleanest 539C that I have ever seen. There are a few surface scratches on the deck that do not show up on the photos; if it were not for those. I would advertise it as museum quality. There are a few scratches on the case, also. You are bidding on an NRI Model 68 Tube Tester. There is a nearly identical Triplett version of this tester. Which I believe is a Model 2413, but it has a roll chart where this one requires looking up the tubes in the included booklet. I checked out a quite few tubes, and it seems to work fine. It tests from the early fat pin tubes up thru 7 and 9 pin miniatures. no compactron sockets) The original tube testing chart book with instructions is included. My first tube tester was one of these. It is very easy to use by moving levers up or down. The settings are the same as those used on many Heathkit/Eico/Knight testers, except the levers may be labelled ABC rather than 123. So settings for additional tube types are readily available if needed. The tester measures roughly 10 by 10 by 6 inches in size, not counting the latch and feet. The metal ... morecase has some flaws from use, and the handle strap is gone, but inside it is very clean. Heathkit TC-2P/ TC-2 Tube Tester- Accurate- Nice! Here's a nice Heathkit model TC-2P tube tester from my collection. The"P" is for portable- it has a lid. I like the TC-2P because it has the protective lid which was omitted from the later Heath testers. It also has the old 4. 5, 6& 7-pin sockets you need if you're restoring vintage radios. Of course it also has the"modern" octal, loctal, 7-pin miniature and 9-pin miniature sockets too. The test circuit of the TC-2 and TC-2P is identical to Heath's later models TC-3, IT-21, IT-17 and IT-3117, and was borrowed from the Triplett model 3413, as were the Eico models 625 and 628 and the Knight KG-600 series of testers. As a result, the test data for all these testers is generally interchangeable. If you need setup data that isn't on the roll chart, all the ... moredata that is available on the WEB for the Heath, Eico and Knight testers can be downloaded and used with your TC-2P! However, a bit of translation is needed. For some obscure reason Heath lettered their tube pin switches instead of numbering them the same as the tube pins they connected, like Eico and Knight. But if you can figure out that A=1, B=2, etc. you won't have any trouble using all the other data. It makes a great sanity check, too. If you aren't getting the reading you expect, and suspect there is an error in the roll chart(which there sometimes is) just use setup data from one of the other testers and see if your results differ significantly. To ensure accuracy of a newly built kit. Heath didn't provide any calibration adjustments for this model tester, relying instead on the inherent accuracy achieved by the use of close tolerance components in the measuring circuits. Calibration consists of ensuring that all these components, including the meter, are within tolerance. This has been done. STARK 9-66A Tube Tester, Very good condition, NO RESERVE!!
For Auction: A STARK 9-66A tube tester in very nice condition. Stark was licensed to manufacture these testers by Hickok. This is a Hickok design. Manufactured in Canada, and is closest to the model 533A, however, this one has the sockets to test the newer dectal, and compactron tubes. A simple Google search will get you a lot of information about this tester. The scroll is dated February 1968. The scroll goes from end to end with very little binding, and has no rips or tears. I have tested a lot of tubes with this tester with no issues. It is very clean inside and out, and has NO signs of ever having been worked on, or modified. The meter is clean and the movement is flawless. The push buttons work precisely with no need to be cleaned. All switches are crisp and tight. Even the power cord is in great shape with no dryness or cracking. The ... morecase has a few scuffs, but is in very nice condition and is built to take punishment. One of the pictures shows the tester with a 6L6 metal in the test mode. It comes with an owner's manual, a tube supplement manual, and an adapter that fits in the octal socket. The rectifier tubes will be removed from their sockets for safe shipment. I have started the bidding quite low on this no reserve auction! I do not ship outside the continental US. Relisted due to an error on my part. This is actually a Western Electric KS-15750 or Hickok RD 1575 meter.and the specs are supposed to be 1500 ohms 120 uA and 180 mV but not positive. I'm selling this as is. It works and the needle moves freely but it should be checked and calibrated. Overall it's in really great condition the glass is clean and clear. The black casing is a few minor surface scratches on it but looks nice and shiny. The face of the meter is very clean but a few of the numbers are worn a way a bit, see the photos. JACKSON DYNAMIC TUBE TESTER MODEL 648R VERY NICE
This is a Jackson mod. 648R dynamic tube tester made in late 50's or early 60's. It's in great shape cosmetically with basically just surface rust on the case hinges and a little dirt. It hasn't been tested but when plugged in. The meter needle goes to the middle, all the knobs rotate smoothly, the tube specs chart rolls nicely etc. This is the later 648R mod, which along the s mod. seem to be the most favored. These Jackson testers are recognized as one of the top brands. This will be sold"as is" as I have no means to test it. Has an instruction sheet fastened to the inside of the lid.
