This was one of the last Tube Testers Hickok sold, and unofficially it was sold into the 1970s. This one is in nice used condition with a few scrapes and nicks on the outside of the cabinet. ... moreYou can make it look new if you want to buff it up with black shoe polish, but I’ll leave that up to you. The interior panel is excellent, showing very little sign of use. This large 19” x 17” x 8” tester has 14 sockets and covers 4 pin, 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin miniature, 10 pin, 12 pin, and 4 smaller sockets for nuvistors and subminiature tubes. Up for sale is a complete Weston 664. 665 combination vacuum tube set tester. The set was built between 1931 and 1934 and contains a Weston model 664 capacity meter and 665 selective analyzer and several free point sockets and adapters to test radio circuits. This set comes with many extras from probes to extra socket adapters. This particular set was used on a navy battle ship during WW2 and still works. Hickok model 546 tube tester checker
Very nice Hickok 546 tube tester. This has been gone through recently and works very well. The metal case could use some cleaning or re-painting but is also in nice condition with no rust. The handle is good and sturdy. I have tested several tubes(an 80. 2A3, and a 6SF7) against my 800 and they test almost identical. The roll chart is in very good condition. I will try to get the postage down a bit by cutting down the box a bit. I don't charge for packaging.

Up for bid is a vintage 1968 Radio Shack Micronta model 22-012 tube tester. This is made in the USA. The case is black plastic with no cracks. The front panel is metal with all the markings in place. Comes with the original box. Also you get the tube data chart. With out the chart you can not test any tubes. It is very clean condition and looks hardly used. I got this from an estate sale the other day. It says you can test over 1500 tube types. This will not test every kind of tubes. This listing is for a Eico 610 Nuvistor Novar Compactron Adapter Tube Tester Modernization Panel. This allows you to Update Older Vacuum Tube Testers. You plug this into the 9 pin miniature socket on older model testers and you can test Compactrons. Novars, Nuvistors and 10 pin tubes that could not be tested on earlier models. You can even test Sweep tubes using this adapter and appropriate settings. This is in excellent condition. I removed the Nitto tape from the front panel so it looks great! Tube sockets are as tight as they should be. Someone cut off the 9 pin connector on the cable. I made a new one and put it into place and potted it. This is a more snug robust design than the original. It's a pretty simple device. With pins 1 through 9 of the plug going to pins 1 through 9 of the respective update sockets. Thus, even if you don't ... morehave switch settings for your tester, you can figure them out and use this with any tester that has a 9 pin miniature socket. You can derive the electrical settings(such as"English" and"Bias" with a known good tube if you can't find such data. This is pretty easy to do with Hickock testers. Very clean tube tester. A reliable workhorse in very nice condition on the inside. No rust on the hardware inside or out. But the cover's a little rough in places as the pictures show. Comes with cap probe, test data book, and original user's manual, which includes a fold-out circuit diagram. I calibrated it according to the procedure in the manual. All internal voltages are within spec, and tube test results agree with my other B&K 700. I have not gone as far as cleaning all the switches, but they seem to make good contact as they are. Superior Instruments Model TV-11 Tube Tester.Ca.1955 Case,manual.radio,TV tubes?
Bought two vintage tube testers from the son of the original owner. Said he kept these around enough years. Selling these and a couple vintage floor radios that has been in his family since he was small. This is a Superior Instruments of White Plains.NY model TV-11. The fellow I bought it from said he is sure it works and that his father ran a radio repair shop someplace. I do not know how to test this. I plugged it in. When I turn the power switch to on the needle goes to the center of the guage( shown in pictures) If I turn the line adj. knob the needle does move a bit as I assume it should. I don't know how to test this in any fashion. There is an old Delco Electron tube in a small box which will be included. The cord looks OK and certainly works. Does have the original manual( dated 1955 on the front in a date on the wiring revision ... moresheet in back) There is another"questions and answers" book by Superior that say for Model TC-55 and TD-55 but someone has written in pen that also for TV-11 for what that is worth. The rolling chart at the bottom seems to roll but it is quite sticky(turns hard) and should be cleaned to turn smoothly but it is probably complete. Did not disassemble unit. Case is pretty good shape in general but does have quite a few scratches and would need refinishing if one is concerned about such things. Beautiful Hickok 6000 Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Lightly Used AUCTION
This is a beautiful working example of one of the finest tube-testers ever built. It is one of the last of the great Hickoks and has been very lightly used. The roller tube-chart functions properly and has the test-data for many modern tubes not seen on other testers. Such as 5687, 5755, 5670. Of course the test data for the old stand-bys such as 12AX7, 6V6, 6SN7 are included, too. It tests solid-state devices such as transistors and diodes but I have never performed these tests. I have tested many tubes with this unit. It is working properly. It has not. However, been professionally calibrated. It is a true analog device and tiny changes in either the bias or shunt controls have a dramatic effect on the test reading. This is a unit you can live with for the rest of your life. If you have never used one, it takes a little time and practice ... moreto perform a test correctly. For example, there are two ways to read the output: GOOD vs. REPLACE, or in MICROMHOS(transconductance) To do the good-replace test, you use the settings on the tube chart. To test for approximate transconductance, you use one of the three red dots on the shunt knob to set the scale on the meter. You can then compare the reading on the meter to the nominal standard reading shown on the chart. Sound complicated? It isn't. It just takes a little practice and patience to become an expert. If you want to use this as a commercial tube-seller. I suggest you have it professionally calibrated. Look on ebay for folks who perform that sevice. I have read their ads and they sound like they know their stuff. In the photos you can see me testing a Russian EL34 and a Chinese 6L6GC. Both lightly used. The EL34 tests a little low. The 6L6 is right on the money. You can test your own tubes to draw your own conclusions about the calibration. Remember, even GOOD tubes test differently. Honestly. I do not think(in your lifetime) you will ever find a more Beautiful, Iconic, Rare and WORKING piece of equipment! Look at the pictures and look at the thumb wheel for the roll chart, there is ZERO wear; the whole tester looks like it was never used, or maybe once or twice. This testers condition deserved some electrical restoration to get it back to working condition, so I did that for. There was no calibration procedure in the manual(original and included) so I simply used my Lab quality 6L6 calibration tube to verify this testers function; ALL was"right on" as expected. This Rare tester will test all older tubes, like popular 2A3 and W.E. 300A/B audio tubes. It has a modern 7 pin tube socket but not a 9 pin. FYI, with this testers patch cord scheme, you only need to have a tubes base connections to test almost ANY tube. ... moreAs you can see from the pictures, the production tag shows a date of Dec. 11, 1944. ALL of the patch cords and power cord, are in great soft condition. Some spares are included.
