Male banana to uninsulated alligator clip. I performed the following tests: 10k Ohm(1% resistor = measured 10.015 k Ohms. Wall outlet voltage(should be around 120VAC) = measured 118.45 VAC. 20W soldering iron(should be about 168 mA AC) = measured 169.67 mA AC. 1.9 V DC from DC supply = measured 1.910 V DC. 1.91 VDC across a 10k Ohm resistor = measured 0.191mA DC. From the tests above I conclude this unit works fine. I did not test every function in every range because that would have taken too long.

An awesome old school working VTVM with all you need to use it right out of the box and the large meter face makes reading measurements easy for those of us with fading eye sight. I have replaced the power supply filter capacitor and diode as well as installed the 1 meg ohm resistor on the function switch. You don't have to remember to to switch the uni-probe back and forth when you select a different function. I cleaned all the switches and checked all ranges thereafter as well as calibrating the unit per the manuals instructions. The plastic holster is a little dirty from years of use. This unit has a serial number of 628525. This units is in good cosmetic condition with acceptable usage and wear marks. No burns or burn smells. Meter moves properly with no sticking that I noticed. Outer case is brown varnished wood. The exterior could use some refinishing. The glass on top of meter is in excellent shape with no cracks. There are 2 vintage test leads included. The insulation on the test leads is deteriorating. The wire inside is weak. The leather-carrying strap has rotted away. Upon researching the item its noted that this a vintage and rare item. The meter comes with a built-in set of test leads and a COPY of the Assembly manual. I was able to calibrate the unit and get a accurate reading on DCV, ACV and Resistance scales. The unit has been modified- the 8.4 battery holder has been replaced with a 9 volt style holder. Also include is a new 1.5V battery and a new, in sealed package, 8.4V battery. The unit will have to be calibrated when the new batteries are installed. The calibration procedure is straight forward and layout out in the manual that's included.
