I have an Agilent E4437B ESG-DP signal generator for sale. It has been used in the lab for my company for several years for testing of RF parts. It has been maintained regularly to meet the strict requirements for our lab. In the latest calibration for this signal generator however. It has not met the required phase noise level which is why it is being sold now. This is the only flaw with the signal generator as far I know. It is in a good condition for experimental use or for applications that do not require very low phase noise level.

Description This Signal Generator is a vintage measurement instrument made by the Measurements division of McGraw-Edison located in Boonton. New Jersey. This particular model(Model 560FM) was first issued in the early sixties as a Standard Signal Generator capable of controlled power level CW as well as FM modulated signal generation in 6 frequency bands. The design is based on a double shielded central oscillator with a feedback circuit using dual bolometers for accurate power levels. The pictures show the internal circuitry both with the shields in place. 1 shield removed and both shields removed. I’ll include a hardcopy of the original operating ... moreand service manual. Three of the frequency bands cover the range 25‑54MHz. Two others cover 132-174MHz(VHF) and 400-470MHz(UHF) The highest band uses harmonics to create signals in the range 890-960MHz. This signal generator was marketed as universal portable measurement equipment for mobile communications. As can be seen it also covers many ham bands. The output level range is-8dBm to-128dBm(~100000µV to 0.1 µV) In other words it spans 120dB! This is truly a collector’s item that belongs in any collection of classic measurement instruments or radio equipment! It wouldn’t look bad in a museum either. It can also simply be used for its original intended purpose. Condition The instrument is tested and found to be fully functional and accurate. The instrument is in great shape. There are some paint chips. Mostly on the sides and the top, but the instrument is not damaged and it should be possible to restore the paint by retouching. The knob for the output level has a notch. General Radio Type 213 1000 Cycle Signal Generator. Used. I have had this for about 20 Years. I don't know how old it is or if it works. It is in pretty good shape for a device at least 50 years old. There are some scratches on the case. The chrome shield has some pitting that may be cleanable. This is offered AS IS. This from the GR Museum site. Type 213 Oscillator Before R-C oscillators, one way go get an accurate low-frequency test signal was to use a tuning-fork oscillator like the GR 213. This is a working unit but it is not perfect. It is great for working on Ham equipment or any radio with in its frequency range up to 520mhz. I used it with HF gear. I have noticed that it takes about 20 minutes to fully warm up when cold. Also two of the ranges have spots where the output seems to drop. They are the 130-260 range and the 260-520 range. This may just be a problem of cleaning and aligning. Overall this is a great piece of test equipment. One thing you can do is set the output to exactly 50 microvolts to adjust your S meter, or you can use it to calibrate frequency readout. The last picture is of the spec sheet if you are interested. MONSANTO 3100A FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER. Signal Generator/ Sweep Generator I was advised that I should re-classify this ad. Because I have not checked the computer port operation. So I did, but please read on, as this is a fine piece of working equipment. Introduced about 1968. The 3100A was recognized as a top performer. It should have too, as it cost about as much as 1/2 the annual wages(roughly $5.000 in 1969, that would be $32.000 in 2014 dollars! of a typical American at the time. It was state of the art and computer engineered(when computers were main frames only and expensive) It provided an enormous amount of selectivity. Had unbelievable accuracy and wide range of capabilities. Many science institutions, like Sandia Labs(where this unit likely came from) NASA, and many universities utilized them in leading edge research. It was used ... moreby the University of Rochester to time Pulsars back in 1969 and to measure the rate of atomic decay at the University of Michigan in 1975. I got my hands on this unit about a year ago. It was purchased from a New Mexico salvage company. It was dirty and didn't function. But it cleaned up well and with a few parts and a little work it was running. The most important repair made was on the OCXO timebase used. The original, a real beauty, was long dead. So, I searched for a stable 1 mhz source and found a nice unit made by Vectron(CO236T) With a little work I was able to install the new oscillator within the casing of the old, and still be able to adjust it just as easily as the original. I have started and stopped this unit many times to observe it's stability and warm up time(some are on the opening sequences on the video) After about 2 hours the unit stabilizes in temperature and frequency at 1,000,000.00 hz +/02hz. I have also tested the AM Modulation. External sweep, external timebase, sweep, amplitude and frequency accuracy. Everything worked nicely. It was fascinating to watch the unit shift a hundredth of a hz(at the turn of the right most dial) on the oscil
