I did get a waveform from the RF output(see photo) The unit is larger and heavier than most signal generator. Tektronix 067-0532-01 Constant Amplitude Signal Generator 65-500MHz
I probably should have listed this signal generator as an antique but what the heck. It is still a good working unit. Unfortunately I am unable to test it much above 100MHz due to the bandwidth limitation of my scope but as you can see in the pictures it works just fine at 100MHz and I have no reason it will not work as you continue to increase the frequency output. Output is continually variable from 65MHz through 500MHz or there is a 3MHz reference signal output. There are eight amplitude ranges from 0.5 Vp/p through 4 Vp/p selectable at 0.5 V intervals. Output amplitude within each range is adjustable with a vernier control. Output is taken from a head with a GR 874 connection. Sorry there is no manual for or power cord for this unit. It requires a regular grounded extension type power cord as hopefully you can tell from the rear facing ... morepicture. The auction is for the Signal Generator only. Heathkit IG-102 RF Signal Generator Tested and Excellent Cosmetically
If you are looking for a very nice Heathkit signal generator. Look no farther. Excellent graphics.The freq range is 100KC trough 220MC in six bands with a 2% accuracy. The output is 50 ohms and the signal can be internally modulated with 400 cps. Now, this is not a lab quality instrument but is accurate enough to align vintage radios nicely. I restore radios as a hobby and use one just like it. The chassis and components are very clean. It is vintage test gear but I cleaned pots and aligned each band to spec. This is demonstrated with the photos. My frequency counter would not go into band F so I did not show the signal on it but it is good. Also notice the last photo that shows the modulated 400 signal. The waveforms show clean with no distortion. To check the calibrated output, just use a digital AM radio works well. Also, I am including ... morea NEW test lead and a schematic with operating instructions. The test lead is the same as original. Complete manuals are available on e-bay if you need one. Only the signal generator is for sale! Oscilloscope and cables are not included. The"fine tune output level" knob is missing. The shaft does turn smoothly. Precision Signal Generator Series E0200 in VERY Good Condition
Unit is in good overall condition. I bought this on November 03 of 2013. Purchased from bkoronas for $50+20.27 for shipping. I was just starting out setting up my testing bench for Kenwood radios. The ad stated that unit worked good. When I got it I tested by listening in my HF receiver. Couldn't pick anything up. I also bought a manual from him. I think it was $15, he tossed in a CB mic wiring CD, woopie. While the unit"Worked" The power lamp came on but I couldn't get a signal on my short wave rig. Finally got around to testing it further. I won't lie to you like some sellers. The unit has a bad RF oscillator tube. Puts out 0. The audio oscillator tube is about 60% There is 400hz audio signal output. But no RF. The 4 pin rectifier tube is working but my tube tester will not test a 4 pin tube. Unit needs a 6AU6 tube ... morefor RF. A 6U8 tube for audio osc. wouldn't hurt. May need 5Y3 rectifier tube. Might not. I believe with just an RF oscillator tube. The 6AU6 the unit will work fine. She's in real good shape inside and out. all front case screws are good. None are stripped. Internal components look in very good condition. Cabinet and 4 rubber feet are fine. Test cable will work, I spent an hour re-doing the connector end, it was intermittent. Insulation is dry and cracking though. Power cord is very good for it's age. It should have 1' cut off the cabinet end. It has a couple nicks in the insulation. I think I gave him $15 for the 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" Copied manual. You get it for free. I should have. You are buying"As-is" with an HONEST assessment of working condition. He was insistent that unit worked good. I've emailed him 3 times in the last 2 days to let him know I feel he owes me at least a set of tubes. No response whatsoever. I'll sell it for what I paid for it. Testing and tube checking free. Manual for free. Shipping will be $20. I lose about $35 on the deal. Thanks bkoronas for teaching me a lesson. Shipping is not refundable. This Heathkit signal generator is in great well cared for condition. It has been checked out and the Heathkit calibration procedure performed. This generator works like a new one and puts out a stable modulated signal from the AM broadcast band up to 22 MHZ which was the highest frequency I could personally check with my SW receiver. I was able to check the frequency output up to 40 MHZ with my bench counter and it worked perfectly to that range. I am sure it is working up to the 200 MHZ range as it should. But I am unable to positively verify that with my bench equiptment. The chassis is very clean wel constructed without corrosion ... moreor other signs of damage or abuse. The generator is very accurate and I have included a couple of pictures showing its output into an HP counter. All chassis components have been checked out. The tubes were checked and found to be strong. All controls operate perfectly and all pots and switches have been cleaned with contact cleaner. The front panel does have some minimal small markings on a couple of places around the dial but they are very minor. see picture 12) As you can see in the pictures this IG-102 is in great condition and has been well cared for. The knobs and case are in excellent condition as are the power cord and the handle. This generator is very accurate across its range and is linear. Compact, and reliable, a great addition to your bench if you are repairing and maintaining broadcast or Ham receivers. Ranges D and E do not change frequency with dial rotation. This sounds like a weak or bad capacitor or some other simple fix.
