Here's a Nice Antique 1920s Art Deco Pair of Tubular Chrome Tables offered at NO RESERVE! The tables are constructed of tubular chrome and a masonite/linoleum or something similar shelves. Each table measures approximately 26 and 1/4" tall by about 18"by 16" They will need a bunch of cleanup as I did not clean them in any way. The chrome has areas of pitting and rust(one of the worst spots shown in picture 8) there is some black paint on the chrome. Which does come off with a fingernail(picture 7) also some schmutz on the top of one which again came off with my fingernail. And of course normal wear and tear like the scratch pictured in the 9th photo. Each table has a numbered label(picture 5) indicating they were in a library or school or what have you. The classic Herman Miller geometric chrome clock by noted designer Gilbert Rohde, one of America’s leading early proponents of modernism and industrial design. The minimalist design of the finely made chrome case is totally in keeping with Rohde’s early design aesthetic. This is one of the less common examples, with a matte silvered dial and finely striped stylized numbers(most have a white dial with art deco block numbers) The case is in exceptional untouched original condition, showing a slight bit of natural age to the chrome, but there is no corrosion or damage. The face and inside under the glass could use a bit of cleaning, and there is a line where one of the hands rubbed the face, but there is no damage from misuse. Calibration is expensive so make sure you're either smart enough to w ork with it uncalibrated or rich enough to send it out. That said. The battery won't hold a charge. It's still inside so if you're packing this up to a cell tower and plugging it in you might be able to remove the battery and lighten your load. Don't know if it works that way but probably.
