Art Deco Chrome Vanity Table Mirror Machine Age Streamline Rohde Weber Era
Up for bid is this fantastic art deco machine age vanity or table mirror. This was a bit of a challenge to photograph due to the shiny chrome and glass. I took several photos but if you have any questions please ask. Very cool design. Maker or country of origin unknown. The mirror glass measures 12" in diameter and the base is 6.5" and total height is about 17" Has an adjustable screw to set the angle up or back. Very well made in good vintage condition. The mirror has some silver loss along the edges and the chrome base has light pitting and wear but is still very presentable. Probably made in this 1930's so it does show age and use wear. Could be re-chromed to perfection and would great with a cobalt blue mirror. No reserve! Good luck!

He left high school to pursue a variety of jobs, landing a short stint at a local paper, the Bronx News, drawing political cartoons. In 1923 he turned the experience into a job as an illustrator at the Abraham& Strauss department store. Inspired by a trip to the Paris Exhibition in 1925, Rohde began designing furniture and his early work was sold at Lord& Taylor. An exuberant modernist, his pieces gleaned simplicity and rationalism from Bauhaus design and a sense of form and ornamentation from Art Deco.
