Brass makers plate with last patent date July 1901; first patent date Nov 1888. Model 57. A hand inked serial number on paper dial(red arrow) matches serial number on brass plate. Freestanding at slight angle as salvaged out of old control panel many years ago. Purchased near Waterloo, Iowa and supposedly came from the John Deere tractor works in Waterloo, Iowa. Big needle is manually set with knurled knob(which turns easily) Small needle indicates voltage. Voltage needle appears to work—hooked up to 12 volt battery and needle moves appropriate distance(see pic) BUT can’t figure how to adjust needle to zero position. Don’t see any adjusting screws; might need to open case. ... moreWas only able to test the low range—0 to 30 volts—wasn’t able to test high range. 0-150. With its curved design. This was probably at the very top of a control panel. Made with multiple plys of wood like a piece of cabinetry; the top ply I think is mahogany. There are some pieces of ply missing on back side. 2012 Specialized Venge Pro 58cm with Quarq power meter
The bike is in great shape. Tuned 100 miles ago. The front left hood and rear skewer housing(non-drive side) are scratched from a tip over but function perfectly. My body took the brunt of the fall. No other falls, scratches or blemishes on the bike. Quarq power meter works great and calibrations consistently in the 500 range. Wheels roll true and smoothly. This is some test equipment that has been sitting here at the shop for awhile. So it's time for it to go to somewhere it can be used. The 17XTA power meter works fine and the meter readings are comparable to my EXFO 920 Maxtester. Comes with a FC interface cap and carry case. The 2260XFM WAS working. But it seems to have some issues now. So this is for parts only. The battery has been removed so there is no corrosion. The outside case is in pretty good condition and the front panel is still nice. Coherent Field Master power meter with LM-1 detector. Works great- not sure of calibration- but looked very close when I tested it against known laser. Classic power meter from Coherent with expensive detector. This meter will work with most all of Coherent smart sensors. I also wanted to add that this is almost a collector item- at least to someone- because it is the very first Field master that went out to a customer for evaluation and then was returned. It was made in Auburn CA. facility- which doesn't exist anymore either. So to all the ex-Coherent employees from Instruments in Auburn- maybe you should buy this.
