A nice transparent Quartz Lecroy Bifurcate point found personally by me on 3/24/10 while hunting along the shores of the Chesapeake bay here in Mathews county Virginia. Measures 1 inch long and 3/4 inch wide. Made of transluscent quartz. Part of Bifurcated stem may be broken but otherwise a very sharp point that dates dates to the Early Archaic period. 6500 to 5700 BCE. Check out my! Authentic Arrowheads-1 3/4" Lecroy
This point is a dark hornstone material from KY. That has great high quality flaking, that the pics don't display real well due to very heavy creek staining on this side of the point. It is very thin, in excellent condition, it does have a very slight tip nick, but the great bifurcated base and quality flaking more than make up for this. This piece is early to mid archaic, 9000-5000 BP, and would be a great addition to any authentic collection.
