I've tested the unit for a couple of days and while it does work and pass all tests as can be seen in the photo. It is a little wonky on start up. The screen will flicker until it warms up, and the buttons will only work after a couple of reboots. This can be the next reboot, or it can be 10 or 15. IFR 1200S Service Monitor With Options 1, 4, 10, 12*
Selling for a friend. He wrote the following description. Here is a nice IFR 1200S with options 1. 4& 10, 12* Although this unit does not have the tracking amplifier. I enabled option 12 tracking feature. The tracking amplifier only adds about 6db. And in most cases is not needed. You can see in the photo of the tracking generator opperating. It is sweeping a duplexer. This is one of the best and easiest to use service monitors that IFR ever made. It is a very rugged unit. Made for field work, or just a daily bench unit. The CRT display is showing WWV at 15Mhz Being received on an outside antenna. Notice that the frequency resolution switch is set to 30Hz. And the meter is showing 0 error. As you well know. There are a lot of 1200S service monitors on ebay, but most of them state tested to power up only. These units will need alignment ... moreto work properly! So expect to invest at a minimum of $400+ to get in working properly after all these units are 15 to 20 years old. Be aware that one of the problems that I find with"used tested to power up only" Is that someone has transmitted into the antenna in jack and blown out the front end mixer. That repair will cost a minimum of $300 to repair alone! With out exception. Every 1200S that I receive needs alignment. I am not saying that every 1200S on ebay is bad. But you will save in the long run by buying a unit that has had it functions tested and alignment has done to insure that it is working properly. A lot of auctions state"Came out of a working environment" That means nothing! If you see a unit on ebay that the scope tube doesn't show a trace. Don't buy it unless you need parts! Perhaps the only problem is the scope power supply is bad. But if it has a bad tube you are out of luck as they are not manufactured anymore and none are available from IFR. The units I sell have been tested. Any issues found are repaired and then they are left powered up for 5 hrs to make sure that there are no long term powered on issues. Then I do the alignm

Used IFR FM/AM 1000S Communications Spectrum Analyzer Service Monitor. Powers up and looks to be working somewhat. There appears to be a problem with the CRT focus because It will not show the RF Modulation waves clearly. The intensity knob has to be all the way up for the CRT to show anything. On the bottom you will see that there is a foot missing and it sits a little un level. I have no way to test it's functions or capabilities. There is a speaker inside that can be heard just fine and I see some waves on the readout. When I adjust some buttons the waves change so it appears to function somewhat in different modes. Turning the Horizontal and Vertical knobs doesn't move the modulation on the CRT. To me it seems like a mostly a parts unit but someone good at electronics repair might make a gem out of it. You are bidding on a used IFR 1900 CSA. This item is used and powers up and passes all of its self tests. I was able to use it as a signal generator and put a 1.7Ghz signal at 0.0dBm into a specan and receive it at 1.7005Ghz at-6.63dBm(connected by a 7ft cable which can account for some of the loss) I was also able to use it as a power meter and get spot on results. However. Using it as a specan I was unable to receive anything short of garbage. I don't believe the specan feature to work properly so I am selling this unit AS-IS with no warranty so please bid on it as a non working unit for parts only. The unit also has a bent handle on the rear of it, it does not appear to have been dropped as that is the only damage but I couldn't venture a guess as to what or how it happened. IFR offered customers who bought the later 1200S an upgrade conversion of their 1200S to the Super S. IFR would replace several internal boards and the front panel overlay. This unit has been converted from an S to a Super S. This IFR 1200 Super S has options 1.4,6,10, 12, Tracking generator and option 14, trunking. The scope display is showing WWV at 15Mhz. Notice that the frequency resolution switch is set to 30Hz. And the error meter is showing 0 error. The photo of the tracking display shows sweeping a duplexer. There are a lot of 1200 series service monitors on ebay, but most of them state tested to power up only. These units will need alignment to work properly! So expect to invest at a minimum of $400+ to get them aligned and repaired. After all these units are 15 to 20 years old. Be aware that one of the problems that I find with"used tested to power up only" Is that someone has transmitted into the antenna in jack and blown out the front end mixer. T

IFR A-8000 10kHz - 2.6GHz Spectrum Analyzer
Unit is in fairly good physical condition. As far as we know there are no parts missing. Unit initializes normally. First displaying the IFR logo and then moves next to the spectrum monitoring screen. We connected the input of the unit to the 100 MHz test output on the front panel and the displayed wave form was as expected. We used a signal generator to input signals at 1 MHz. 10 MHz, and 1GHz; in each case the resulting waveform was as expected. In other words, the amplitude and frequency were correct. Even though the unit appears to be functioning properly, we cannot guarantee that it is calibrated properly or that it is without problems. Sold AS-IS. No returns, no warranty.

This ... moreis a very nice unit. Cosmetically I give it a 8 out of 10. As you well know. There are a lot of 1200 series service monitors on ebay, but most of them state tested to power up only. These units will need alignment to work properly! So expect to invest at a minimum of $400+ to get them aligned and repaired. After all these units are 15 to 20 years old. Be aware that one of the problems that I find with"used tested to power up only" Is that someone has transmitted into the antenna in jack and blown out the front end mixer. That repair will cost a minimum of $300 to repair alone! With out exception. Every 1200S, SS that I receive needs alignment. I am not saying that every 1200S. SS on ebay is bad, but you will save in the long run by buying a unit that has had it functions tested and alignment has done to insure that it is working properly. A lot of auctions state"Came out of a working environment" That means nothing! If you see a unit on ebay that the scope tube doesn't show a trace. Don't buy it unless you need parts! Perhaps the only problem is the scope power supply is bad. But if it has a bad tube you are out of luck as they are not manufactured
