This auction is for a Stanford Research Systems Model FS700 Loran-C Frequency Standard Module. This came in with a bunch of other test equipment from the same local company. A lot of items that comes from here is good and works ... morefine, but I am not able to test fully, so will tell you what I did. Plugged unit in and all the colored lights on the panel lit up: LOCK, SEARCH ERROR, OVEN and ANT(pic 4) Info started to come up on the digital display screen. Tried to take a few pictures(5-8) but couldn't get them all since they were pretty fast. First screen said STANFORD RESEARCH SYSTEMS FS700 LORAN RECEIVER VER 1.19. Old info would scroll up when new info came up. Next thing was SYSTEM ROM TEST.PASSED. Then SYSTEM MEMORY TEST.PASSED. Then PATTERN/MEMORY TEST.PASSED. Then DAC/ADC TEST.PASSED. Then ATTENUATOR/AMPLIFIER TEST.PASSED. Then INTEGRATOR TEST.PASSED. Last screen for tests was Self Tests ALL PASSED. Then it came up with WARNING Antenna bad or not connected. Since there was no antenna connected, that is why it probably came up with that warning. Since I know NOTHING about this piece of equipment, I did not want to screw anything up, so just stopped. Power ON/STBY button is a little loose, but can probably be tightened up. Works fine to power on, since I used it numerous times to try to write down what it was saying on the screens! There were a number of“must haves” that I felt ought to be in my laboratory. Aside from the early General Radio Type 1100-A Synchronometer– a very early and quite wonderful tube unit– the Sulzer Model 2.5 was next on my list because it was for its time, a particularly accurate standard, even by today’s specifications. Designed and manufactured in the 60’s, the specifications for the unit were really excellent. From the Sulzer manual, it was capable of short term stability of a part in 10-11 th. I decided recently to begin selling- on ebay- most of the precision time standards and equipment I’ve acquired over the years as part of my desire to simplify my life and reduce the“clutter” The standards were part of my standards lab and collection of historical frequency standards that I primarily used to check and calibrate the precision pendulum clocks that I designed and built.
