Systron Donner Model 6054B Frequency Counter 20HZ to 24GHZ
I have owned this counter for about 12 years. And it spent most of its life with me on the shelf. I deal with frequencies up to 490mhz and this counter was really too much for me. I took it off of the shelf, plugged it in, and it came back working right away. The only thing I did to it was put a little tuner cleaner on the switches. It seems to work fine, as far as I can tell, but I am not really familiar with any frequencies above 490 mhz. I do have an HP83832B, which will genrate a signal up to 20ghz. In the pictures I show the generator at a UHF frequency and at a high microwave frequency, to show you that it seems to work fine. The frequencies of both units do not match, so I would say that the osicllator or generator are a little off freq, but I am not sure of which. I did not adjust the frequency of the counter(the adjustment is no ... morethe back, but I did not want to change it unless I was sure of the base I was using) This is a heavy item and I will pack it well. I have done my best to be totally honest as to the. Condition of this unit. And I will not accept any returns. To the best of my knowledge, it is working, and I will assume it will work when you get it. But, I might warn you, that this unit has some years on it and could have problems in the future. It seems to be built very well and the circuit boards look easy to work on. The power supply is isolated and there is plenty of room to see all the components and do any repairs in the future. I talk negatively only as a disclamer. It certainly seems to be a good unit.

This equipment is in very nice condition having only a couple of minor scratches on the top that are too faint for the camera to show up but you will see them when you open the package. As can be seen in one of the pictures I connected my signal generator to the counter and it works fine. The counter refreshes every second so there is a noticeable one second delay when you turn the frequency adjust control. The signal generator is not included in the auction. Tektronix DC-504 Frequency Counter/Timer tested in good operating condition. Specs: to 80 MHZ or better. And measures period from 1 uSec to 999.9 seconds. Also, this model has some switches on the circuit board that will select special functions. One of those specials is the direct measurement of RPM readings(with the appropriate front end circuit) See online manual for details. The front panel has some small scratches and leftover adhesive from some kind of inventory stickers. But no problem-the technical labels are all clearly readable, as can be seen in the pictures. Also, 2 of the digits have less brightness than the others. I'm losing about 2/3 of my workshop to the remodeling of our basement. No need to ask who idea this was. So. I'm having to sell off my collection of nice working HP test equipment. For you consideration is my very nice 5381A 80MHz counter. The picture shows it measuring the crystal oscillator frequency in my Kanga US 6 meter ham converter. The inaccuracy you see is the crystal itself. Not the counter. I will guarantee frequency accuracy at 43MHz. I wish I had a higher frequency crystal that I could demonstrate the accuracy. If you look at other seller's 5381s you'll see the usual" I don't know how to check it further" But they seem to think it's worth $200. Need NIST trackable certification for an additional $200? I doubt it. But if you do I'll bet you have a $2000 Agilent counter. This 5381A has a clean ... morefront panel with no scratches, dings, dents, dried up masking tape, or other flaws. There is the name"Sullivan" engraved on the back. I'll bet Sullivan got tired of other engineers running off with his counter so he engraved it. He, I guess it was Sullivan, put a sticker on the bottom indicating the gate time when using an external oscillator frequency of 16.666kHz. This is still a very usable piece of high quality HP equipment. Made when HP meant something. Included with the counter is a CD of the official Agilent operator and service manual. No other ebay seller provides a copy of the manual. I'm sorry but no probes or power cord are included. The power cord is a standard type used with computers. The counter will fit in a USPS medium flat rate box and will ship insured with delivery confirmation. This is a gem. Until very recently when I acquired a counter which will work at 500mhz. I used this to get there. It is very sensitive and I will miss the level meter on the front. The switched attenuator is handy also. I checked it out and it exceeds all basic specifications. It counts to 570 mhz. and only needs 55mv at 500mhz. for stable triggering. The spec. is 100mv. I've owned this for nearly 30 years and it has never failed me. GR made some solid equipment. It comes with a GR-874 to BNC adapter. a power cord and a Xerox copy of the manual. S/N 00171. Here for your consideration is a Heathkit IM-4100 with assembly/user manual. It displays frequency from 5 Hz to 30 MHz. This counter has a built in 500MHz scaler which divides the input freq by 10 so you can read up to 300 MHz. It is installed inside the unit with input and output jacks installed. To use the scaler simply take its output to the input of the counter and use the input of the scaler for your signal. The schematic of the scaler is included in the manual. I used to use this unit but has been stored for several years. The panel is yellowed slightly but pulled it out and it still works great. But even though rated at 125 MHz, counts fine to 140+ MHz with no problem. Contains a very high spec Sultzer designed/ Tracor ovened frequency standard, which still has remarkable retrace after long periods of power down. Fan has been cleaned/ relubricated and one nixie tube replaced, with a spare supplied as well. Calibrated against the lab gps frequency standard, in good working order and should be good for years of service. This counter shows Racal Electronics at the peak of their game. Circa 1974, an all discrete component design with not an ic in sight. A vintage Pride model TF-1000 Time/Frequency Counter. These units were made by the handicapped. Not sure how this works. But it does power on. The clock/frequency switch seems to be backward. In the auto mode the clock is on and in the Time mode only the dots show. I just tried it again and it the same. Maybe the switch is bad as it seems intermittent or maybe that is what it is supposed to do. All the buttons in the back seem to work. This is still a very useful frequency counter; runs on 4 AA cells(included) or 9V external supply(not included) BNC input with supplied telescoping whip antenna. I plugged it into a 10MHz oven standard and it read 10.000. So the internal time base is fine. From an estate; very lightly used.
