Ser# 74220304 One of the nice features(and one of the reasons it is so sought after) of this model is the battery access door so that you don't have to take the chance of damaging your meter just to change the battery. Another feature that sets the 87 III aside from other models is it's improved accuracy AND it's ability to hold that accuracy through multiple test cycles. NOTE: of late I have seen many sellers either not enclosing the battery or not updating them. also not noting that fuses are bad. Changing batteries and fuses is one of the most common causes of case damage on Fluke meters. Price these fuses. Even on Ebay they are expensive! If the seller says they can't put batteries in their meters because of the post office or laws, they are NOT right. there are no such restrictions on these meter batteries EXCEPT Lithium Ion. Too many times. Meters are sold on Ebay which do have the battery or you get one that is depleted. This listing is for a like new Fluke 87 Digital True RMS Volt-Ohm digital multimeter. Tested and in very good working condition. This meter is as close to new as can be without paying the new meter price. There are no marks or a scuffing on the display and meter case is almost perfect. The display is sharp and crisp with no drop out or fading. The yellow rubber is also in very good condition. There was a name on the inside behind the meter. Which was blacked out with a sharpie. When the meter is in the rubber, it cannot be seen. The Fluke leads are like new. The Fluke carrying case is new. Very clean with a little dust from storage. This is an auction for my Fluke 87 digital multimeter. As an original 87. It is a bit of a vintage model. It works fine. The display is fine. Backlight works. Fuses are fine. I've never had it calibrated from Fluke. Meter itself is in very good, if not excellent condition since it has spent most of its existence in the yellow plastic holster. The plastic holster is a little dirty from years of use. Also included are the zippered, vinyl meter case; standard test leads; accessory test lead kit with zippered case; box(showing some signs of wear) and users guide. All items pictured are included in this auction. This has been a trusted instrument for me for many years. I have recently purchased an 87-V, so I no longer need this original 87.
