TEK 2430A is a DSO from the repairable era(circa 1988-1990. Made same time as 2445A/B, 2465A/B) and cost over $6000 new. It is the successor to the 2430A. Tek 2430A has same specs as 2430 but adds convenience features such as"auto-scale" and"auto-measures" I have/had more than 1 for sale, so serial# of unit you get may be different from photo, but all are in equally very nice shape. 1st photo shows a 10Vpp positive going 1KHz squarewave signal into both CHs 1& 2. Second photo shows passing all tests except the one related to weak Li battery. Li battery was designed for 10 year life so it is normal for it to be low after 26 years. It can be replaced(read on. I can do it for you) Photos were taken before calibration which I will provide(read on. I can do it for you) Before digital storage scopes evolved into small lunchbox ... moresized surface mount populated fluff boxes in the late 90s. Sold with a new pair of switchable 1X/10X 100MHZ probes. The Tektronix models 2430.2432,and 2440 are the last models where Tektronix published complete service manuals with SCHEMATICS, parts lists and diagnostic flow charts making board repairs possible. The design uses standard ttl dip chips for most of the design with only a few specialized parts. The later TDS models lack complete service manuals so repairs is by changing complete boards. This unit powers up into calibration mode only. Calibration mode can be bypassed by pressing the abort button while powering up. Screen and front panel lights come on and screen shows scope firmware and recognizes the keypad assembly. No usable trace can be obtained on screen. Also ghosting is present on screen as well.
