The replacement cord is a better*polarized* cord of the same approximate length& gauge and is computer-rated at higher temperature& voltage. Connections were properly soldered& shrink-wrapped& wire-tied. The rectifier diode contacts/solder points on the board were also reinforced& re-soldered due to previous signs of heat.
