I originally purchased this on eBay, with three amazing objectives, for ... more$2500. It's extremely clean and well maintained. Apart from a few dings on the dial faceplate and rub marks on the table, it appears and functions perfectly. The main body has been capped when stored, and the objectives in separate cases, all of which was stored in a climate controlled environment; my living quarters(I'm a non-smoker. The table extension is attached. The mechanical stage and specimen holder operate smoothly, with no backlash. The eyepieces were original, and they were too worn for my liking. So, I connected with a reputable dealer and got hold of a pair of Japanese made(around the time microscope was made) eyepieces that looked like new. Tiyoda Tokyo Hi eye M10. They are pristine, and made a fine match. I'll include the original eyepieces by Olympus. Soon after, I purchased the 40x SPLAN PL objective for $500. I don't have the insert for the phase slider. This never came standard with the microscope, and it's in fine shape, the optics are bright and clear. The Trinocular works perfectly, and the mechanism is smooth. I went ahead and put on the 20X LWD objective, attached a Canon 20D camera, scraped some cheek cells from inside my mouth, and placed it on a petri dish with a few drops of water. see photo) I was able to bring out details from within the nucleus; chromatin fibers around the nucleolus. These are living cells, and you can see all kinds of structures by manipulating the phase slider. It's working fine, and I'm sure someone that knows how to use this could make it sing. If you ... moredon't see it. You probably wont get it. Specifications are from a 3rd party and may vary slightly due to upgrades. Options, or revisions this unit may or may not have. The unit seems to work. I could not get the video camera to work but I believe that is because the PC doesn't have any software for it installed. Using the stage controller I was able to get it to move and it moved fluidly in all directions(X. Y, Z, Theta) The Kinemate Software on the NT 4.0 Workstation also was able to move the stage. I do not have vacuum or air and could not test that functionality. I do not have the expertise to test any other functionality but if there is anything you need me to check I will try. There was only one cable that I could not connect which I believe was attached to a video printer which we did not get. It is sold as-is and you are welcome to inspection. More pictures should be coming soon! I believe the microscope is a Leica Ergoplan judging by the objectives installed but it is Technical Instrument's name on it.
