Western Electric Bell System thermo-plastic ringer box This over sixty year old Bell System ringer made by Western Electric in 1951 is still in great shape and still works(even though the old wire is attached. I was able to connect it on line to and it rang on an incoming call) As you can see from the photos, the thermo-plastic cover still shines nicely. There are no major scratches or dings. There are no cracks on the corners and the vents are still present and in wonderful shape. It is not often that these are found in such great condition. 4 Under the hood Of course you should see the back too. Dated first quarter of 1951. The Pelton Thermo-Electric Pyrometer Type A1 serial#3002 The Pelton& Crane Co. Detroit Michigan This is a very rare instrument that was used to measure temperatures in molten metal. It is currently the only one for sale anywhere online. That I know of, and the only one I've ever seen on Ebay. It is from the 1920's. It was used in foundries and in the production of steel. This instrument can measure temperatures up to 2800 degrees F. It measures 8" x 8" x 3.75" Who doesnt need one of these. It is an awesome conversation piece. This item has a great antique finish. The wood finish is still in great condition considering its almost 100 years old. It has rubber feet on the bottom and one side so its intended to either be on its back or standing up on one side. Rare Bendix-Friez Clock Work Thermo Hygrograph from Edison Electric Power Plant Search Hello, Here is a great piece of history that covers many facets of industrial& electric company activities. This was found as shown in the Kern River Valley of Central Calif. and was used in the historic Borel power plant. Which was founded in 1895 exclusively to power the Red Electric Streetcar transportation system in Los Angeles. See more info here. This is a Bendix- Friez Hygro-Thermograph. Model 594, that is driven by a clockwork mechanism that charts paper graphs with ink stylus's. My impression is that this is a mid century piece possibly from the 1950's or'60's. It was taken out of service in the early 1970's The charts measure approx. 13 1/2" long by 5" wide and there is a pile of about 100 unused graphs that come ... morewith this piece. They are based on a cycle of 1 week by days& hours. The actual machine is approx. 9" tall. 12" long and 5" wide. It is in very good used condition and still looks as though it would work fine and the clock winding mechanism is intact and working. I was told that this machine has gold in it and I am just surmising that the stylus needles might be where the gold is as they look like gold and are a different color than the other brass pieces on machine. This looks like a very delicate piece of equipment and has a band of extremely fine hairs of some kind that help it collect atmospheric data. This is a beautiful example of the early quack medical devices. Art deco design with chrome having a great finish after all these years. Marked as shown as THERMO-CORP NEW YORK MOD R 115 V- 1 AMP. It was used as a massage tool. Rolls freely. Cord in very good condition and unit shows very little use. It did warm up when plugged in but will sell in AS IS condition. The 120V AC power cord was defective. So I cut and soldered one to attached it to an Audiovox AC power cord and covered the solder job with electrical tape. It works great.
