1974 Don Post Planet Of The Apes CORNELIUS & GORILLA Mask ORIGINAL Mold Masters
Offering these 2 extremely rare and unique. Vintage original foam-filled latex Mold Masters of the Deluxe CORNELIUS and GORILLA SOLDIER First issue masks from 1974. These unique pieces were direct from the Don Post archives. They are cast in the original colored latex as the original production pieces were. The mold master is a positive thick latex casting of the mask. Which is latex foam filled(not pollyfoam) Usually one of the first pulls from the mask mold. No part of the mask would have been cut. A plaster stone mold can then be pulled off the mold master for subsequent latex mask pulls. So. If for some reason the original negative stone mold is damaged, another can be made from the mold master. These are not a recent recast off a mask and would not have the shrinkage associated with a copy. They came from Post Studios. The teeth were ... morea separate part glued in and not part of this master. The condition is excellent with virtually no deterioration. Due to initial preperation. You can have it finished off for a high-grade addition to your collection, or leave it natural as a curio rarity. This is a rare opportunity for an extremely unique piece used in the manufacturing process of one of the greatest mask companies of all time.
