Up for auction is this Vintage. Hickok Video Generator, Model 650C. I have no operating manual for this unit, but they are available on the Internet. Photo 2 shows unit powering up. No further testing has been done. Please see ALL photos closely. Unit does show some"grime" scratching, scuffing, some dirt and some minor rust. Does have 2 tags(photos 9& 10) that are tied to handle with string. Yellow tag is an inspection check tag that shows serial number and other calibration/inspection information. The red tag(should be readable in photo) reads: NOTICE. The 2 screws found in the rear of the case are used primarily for protection of the R.F. assembly in transportation. These may be removed when the instrument is permanently located. Those 2 screws appear to be there. I bought his tube-tester and new/old stock of tubes. And this was in the bottom of the box, so I can only guess that it’s from the same period: 50s or‘60s. There is no manufacturer information on it and I think this is a one-of-a-kind unit he built himself. It’s a cube that measures about 6” and as you can see in the picture it does power up. I’m inclined to think this was for video rather than audio due to the BNC type connectors which were more common for video. Other than that I have no clue whether it works or what it does. The case. Fluke 54200 TV Signal Generator, not fully functional
This unit is minimally tested. And is found to be NOT fully functional. I only checked the composite video output. Here are the issues which I noted: 1. The generator does not seem to support color bar output in standard NTSC output format(see pictures) The message is" not available. So possibly this unit is not loaded to properly output color bars? 2. The teletext module is not functional: hardware error. No response from teletext control" 3. The aspect ratio looks wrong. But I think there are settings which I did not bother to figure out on how to set this correctly for the TV I was using for display. The unit does output composite video properly though. I did not test any other outputs or functions from this generator. Including RF output, RGB, SCART, or any of the Audio outputs. Please bid knowing that only what you see in the ... morepicture and what I've tested can be assumed working. As such, the item is sold as-is, with no returns, but priced accordingly. This is a vintage RCP Radio City Products Do All TV signal generator. UHF& VHF. It is Model#750. It comes with the original manual. This was my friend's Grandfathers. And has been in storage for over 15 years. It could use a good cleaning from being in storage. I don't know much about these. This unit does powers up, as you can see from the pictures, but unable to fully test. Unit is sold as is& where is, with no returns. The outer metal has some scratches. It has the following controls: tuning knob; Modulation, off, horizontal, vertical, cross hatch; Band Standby A-D; Output control knob; vertical line knob; Line off& on; RF output& audio output ext mod. It is in good used condition and sold as is. As with any used and vintage electronics, I can not guarantee how long they will keep working.
