Which has some additional features including the transistor tester and the island style socket plate. The 6000 has a socket plate with all the vintage style sockets 4. 5, 6, 7, pin types, Locktal, octal, 7& 9 pin miniature. The units face plate is in great condition. The outer case has some wear spots but is in overall good shape. The inner lid of the case has some signs of wear around the edges, the outer latch hardware metal has some oxidation. You are bidding on a Hickok 600A tube tester. It is in working condition but needs to be calibrated. I purchased this earlier this year from a shuttered TV/Electronic repair shop. This tester was apart when I found it and was missing it's power cord. Case lid and screws and the 83 mercury rectifier tube. I replaced the power cord, some drippy wax capacitors and installed an 83 tube. I did not clean or calibrate- I have done MINIMAL work/trouble shooting on it- only repairing to the point of seeing if it was functional or not to sell. I have two other Hickok testers and this one reads lower than both of them. It could definitely use a good cleaning of all contacts and switches. Tube sockets are all tight, knobs are all there and original and meter works. Also includes updated, bound tube setup guide and operating instructions. Holds line ... morevoltage fine. As with all testers that use a mercury rectifier, it needs to warm up fully before testing any tubes. Case and tester show some wear around some of the switches, not bad, but enough to mention. This is a vintage TV 2 tube tester made by LaPointe Industries in good condition. Serial number is# 200. If you know this tube tester it can test many types of tubes with adjustments of many tube variables. I tested a few tubes with this recently after bringing it up slowly on a Variac. It seems to work as described in an online manual I found. But as with any vintage electronics it may need some refurbishment for good operation. This is also not calibrated. PA, it was most likely for use in the Hand Bookbinding process. It was found in an estate in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where it had most recently been used as stated above. It has a beautiful old worn patina and measures 24-1/4" long x 16-1/4" wide and features a solid brass frame inscribed W. O. Hickok. Harrisburg, PA on all four sides. Someone added a hole at one end for easy wall storage. The board remains in very good condition. It does show normal wear for an old well-used pastry board including a few shallow holes or dents. This is a VINTAGE machine. I cannot find a date of Manufacture on it but if I had to guess I would say it went back to the 60's or 70's. It lights up and seems to vibrate so I would assume that it works. The power wire needs to be replaced because it is dried out and hard to unwind from the bracket on the back. Nice w/ Manuals Here's a nice Hickok 752A Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester I picked up from the estate sale of an vintage electronics and radio enthusiuast last spring. I bought it to compare to and compete with my Hickok 600A. And I would keep the one I preferred. I've used and tested it over the last few months and it works well. the readings on it correspond well with my 600A albeit. They are scaled differently and can't match precisely. But based upon my simple needs, I've decided to keep the 600A and sell the 752A, mainly because it's really far more tester than I need or require. It's like me keeping a Ferrari to go grocery shopping: One really nice feature is the ability to test both sides on dual tubes, like 6SN7s and 12AX7s, by simply pressing an additional ... morebutton without changing settings. Cosmetically. The tester is in quite nice shape. The faceplate is very clean and looks good, the sockets seem tight and thre are 3 socket savers included. There is also a folder containing several manulas, such as instruction, obsolete tubes, and tube readings. The case is a bit worn, but overasll goos shape. It's certainly in far better shape that many other 50+ year old tresters I've had. The 752As are quite nice testers. And one of the better Hickoks out there and several steps beyond simple emission testers. Hickoks are well respected testers, and this one should suit someone quite well. Don't let it get away! For your consideration is a hard to find Hickok Model 209A Electronic Volt Ohm Capacity Milliammeter. In addition to standard VTVM functions. This meter also measures DC Milliamps and Capacitance in uF and pF. The Milliamp function is usefull for biasing tube amplifier output tubes. The large 9" meter makes peak to peak aligning of audio or ham equipment a breeze and is something that cannot be competently performed with a digital voltmeter. The Canadian version of this meter was a Stark VT-9 and retailed for $201.80 in 1954! This one is the same but in a larger cabinet. I purchased this WE KS-15750-L2 Tube Tester early this year to finalize the design and testing of the new DIGITAL MAIN METERS as shown in one of the pictures. It was upgraded with enhancements and now that the project is finished its surplus. The Digital Main Meters are being offered for sale by our group VHSystems on eBay. CONDITION: The metal case is in really good condition with a few markings from normal use. Faceplate knobs and meters are in very good condition. The electronics are nice. The roll chart works well and has the Western Electric types listed. The original handle has been replaced with a new heavy duty equipment handle. Pictures show all parts of the unit including the enhancements. The Digital Multimeter and the Digital Main Meter shown in the pictures are not included. Calibration and tests performed: Rectifiers 83 and 5Y3GT were replaced with solid state devices. This conversion plugs into the tube sockets and can be removed. A combination of zener diodes and rectifiers to match the tubes being removed. It also provides a load to the power transformer filament windings for power stability from load to no load variations. Plate Current pin jacks were added for testing plate current with a Digital Multimeter. Bias Selenium Rectifier was replaced with Silicon Rectifiers. Bias. Main Meter and VR Voltage Electrolytic Capacitors replaced. The large self bias can capacitor removed& replaced with modern small ones. A terminal strip was installed where the self bias capacitor was removed. Grounded line cord installed that attaches to the terminal strip. Main Meter was tested for Full Scale with120 uA and 180 mV. All three meters meet specifications. Return to zero and do not stick. Calibration was verified using Hickok’s procedures in the supplied manual. Hickok 546 Tube Tester for Parts Only, Accessories and Original Manual Included
What once was a very nice tube tester. My inspection includes the following: I could not adjust the line voltage as the gauge did not respond at all to the adjustment. However the gauge did move when the switch was placed in resistance mode, so the gauge may still work. The 9 pin socket has been replaced by some strange blue socket- it is not original. The push buttons may or may not work the Gm button and the rectifier buttons stick. The transformer looks like it has been replaced with one that was larger than the original. The roll chart does work smoothly. All buttons and knobs appear to be original. Power chord has been replaced. This tester is sold as is for parts or not working. The panel and knobs are in very good shape. Both vacuum tubes tested strong. The accessories are in like new condition, not sure if they were ever used. Hickok 538 Tube Tester - parts or repair - NO RESERVE
Hickok 538 for Parts or Repair. NO RESERVE There are two transformers in this model and they are both working. That is about the only part you cant replace in these old testers so thats important. Heater voltage OK Plate Voltage OK( above 150 but I didn't use a shunt resistor when checking on a digital meter- so seems like would be about 150) Screen voltage OK Bias changes with bias control( about-40 at max) Meter appears functional and moves when switch is in the VOM function. Meter does not move when P4 is pressed in tube mode. You can hear the tranny hum change sound a little when P4 is pressed so I believe the tube is under test conditions just not getting to the meter. Likely location is the mode switch but its pretty buried under the VOM section and I didn't want to damage it as Im not familiar with that portion of this Hickok. ... moreso Im passing this along to someone who may be better equipped to fix. case is in fair condition. Wood is intact but no handle and the covering is peeling a bit in places. This unit has two transformers IT IS REALLY HEAVY! US sales only Lower 48 states pay flat $60 shipping. AK. Hello. Up for sale is a Vintage Hickok Model 532 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. This unit does not come with a case. It has been panel mounted in my shop until I recently moved. This listing is For Parts not Working. However. The only flaw I am aware of is that it cannot power the heaters of any 12.6V tubes, like 12ax7's etc. This unit does test 6.3v tubes and I use it regularly to test 6l6's, el34's, and other common octal power pentode's. If you look at the last picture. You will see a switch that I think is the culprit of why the 12.6V heater circuit is not working. Maybe you have one: I think this price is fair.
