He is damaged(as shown in the pictures) The rear rim of his had is chipped off, his head appears to have been severed at one point but is now held together by a means that is a mystery to me, but I can say that it is sturdy and robust. Collectible paper original prison letters by author Jack Henry Abbott
Over 100 letters and envelopes while he was incarcerated in Dannamora. This listing is for a massive collection of personal letters hand written by Mr. Abbott. I was in college at the time and after reading. In the Belly of the Beast' began a business/confidant type relationship with him. We had projects. The time period these letters were written is between 1987 through 1989 with one last letter from 1992 after a break in correspondence where Mr. Abbott wished to continue our correspondence. I never answered him. These letters are packed with much emotion as was all of Mr. Abbott's communications. He was not an easy man to work with and try to help. From this collection. A number of letters have been stolen from their original envelopes as well as several complete letters. The newspaper article explains this. My original intention ... morefor these letters was to donate them to the Norman Mailer Archive at the Ransom Center in Austin, Texas. You can google it. I had been in contact with a representative of the Norman Mailer Archive. They were interested and excited. However, I feel this collection is now flawed. I'm publically putting these letters'out there' to attract attention in hopes of tracking down the stolen/missing letters that are part of this collection. Still the flow of our conversations is still intact with the letters available. There are only so many collectors of this type of thing. Along with these letters I have some of Mr. Abbott's court papers and a radio that I sent to Mr. Abbott along with the letter where Jack tells me he has not had a radio for 25 years! He was thrilled! This letter is one of my favorite, because he was so happy! His name and prison# are etched into the simple AM radio we got through, but was later twice and finally removed from him.I have other letters too regarding the radio where we struggle with that.I listed the radio on ebay too. This book was published in New York by Ledyard Bill in 1863, so it was written during the middle of the war-which explains why it was Volume number 1 and to be continued. There are numerous illustrations-nice engraved portraits of the generals and other important men and map drawings of the battles. With no news coverage. This book was probably an important link to the events of the war for the people back home. I am not sure of the accuracy of this book, not being a Civil War history enthusiast, but it would be interesting to compare with later histories for accuracy and bias. The book has 507 pages including the index. It is 150 years old and has some discoloration. And soiling. Thank you for looking at this auction item* ITEM DESCRIPTION Autographed Upper Deck stadium sheet of Nolan Ryan. Jimmie Reese and Jim Abbott from 1992. This sheet is soiled. It has foxing and spotting on the front and back of the cardstock. READ THIS- Soiling is heaviest on the left side of the image near Nolan Ryan. There is some soiling to his uniform. There is soiling on the pants and left leg of Jimmie Reese too. All the edges have moisture marks from being picked up off the ground at the stadium. This does not affect the signatures. There are also some minor bends and dog-ears on the image too. Authentic signatures. Genuine autographs. If you are an Angel fan looking for a nice item this is it. If it were in mint. This comic retains outstanding cover color and there are no marks. Cuts or tears anywhere in the book. The staples are in tight, but the cover sheet is attached by only the top staple.
