The 1948 ad in the Bedford Directory included chinaware for steamships. By 1960 hospitals. Cafeterias, schools, and motels had been added. A 1963 article in Ceramic Aqe noted that versatility. Quality, and fast delivery was keeping Walker China Co. competitive. This is a Syracuse China plate from their restaurant. Catering line. The plate measures 10 3\4 inches across and features a steamboat, paddleboat design. It has a 1 1\2 inch wide blue stripe bordered by a thin gold stripe on each side. The center of the plate features a steamboat, paddleboat circled by stars. There is no company name or logo. The back is stamped-Syracuse China, USA, 7- J, which dates the plate to 1983. This plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
