Multiplier scales range from X1 to X100K. This package includes a HP-270 slide window GM probe. There is also a hardcase which is not original to the units- it's for a water flow test kit. Although they fit in it great. It also includes two of the proper coaxial cables, some compatible headphones(although the counter also has an internal speaker) a specially cut foam tray to help the units stay safe in a hardcase, two little clips to sit the smaller probe onto the Geiger counter's handle, and a leather carrying strap. I do not know enough to properly use or calibrate the unit. At one point I had an additional probe. ... moreWhich I have already sold separately; when I loaded the counter with batteries and turned it on with that probe plugged in, it would make beeping noises and I could make the display needle wiggle by moving the dials around. Ex REME surplus stock that seems to have spent it's life in stores as it is in excellent condition as far as I can tell! The paint is in excellent condition with only a few very minor scuffs and a couple of light scratches- one to the side and two underneath. The pvc casing is in excellent condition and has its' strap and the little screwdriver in the case lid. The unit comes in the original cardboard storage box with MOD label and a date of 1986 on what appears to be the release label. Also included are the instruction booklet, instruction sheet and REME maintenance document. I have not and cannot test this unit- I have no radioactive sources even if I followed the booklet! It was sold to my Father as being in working order but that ... morewas 27 years ago or so, has been dry stored in our loft ever since. The Ludlum 177 is a full function alarming rate meter. This unit operates in the field on rechargeable batteries and in the lab on AC with an included power cord. It has an alarm that is set with a rotating switch on the back. Also on the back is the access for calibration. HV adjustment, fast charge jack, and pulse out BNC. The front panel controls are volume set for counts and alarm. Range selector, X1, X10, X100, X1000) battery test. Response set, and a reset button to turn off the alarm and zero the meter. There is also a bright red alarm light. Above the on off switch is a pilot lamp that tells you that the unit is operating on AC. The probe that is included with this meter is a lollipop type with a two inch pancake tube. This is the most sensitive type of Geiger tube available and detects alpha.
