The maker's mark on this exquisite piece is Towle EP. It is a large piece with a bold intricate design that is quite elegant. The legs have lion heads and end in the foot with claws. The set consists of the base that holds the 2 burners. The 2 burners have large wicks in them that you can adjust up or down manually. Then there is a large base pan that can hold water to place the next pan over top it. And on top is the beautiful cover with handles. All of the pieces are silver plated. You are bidding on a vintage Nasco Italysilverplate chafing/serving dish with stand and burner. In good condition.But shows some wear on the dish on the bottom where the burner sits. Burner includes cover and snuffer and looks like it has never been used. I inherited this from my Great-Aunt so I don't know much about it. It is marked on the bottom of the burner and says Nasco Silverplate Italy. The bottom plate/tray is approx 10 1/4" in diameter. The entire structure stands about 8" tall. The serving dish/cooker has a lid which is about 9" in diameter and has beautiful decorative handles as seen in one of the photos. This is a really nice vintage silver plate chafing serving dish. It is in good condition and comes complete. I don't think it has been used. I got this in a antique shop thinking I was going to use for entertaining. But I need to clean out and get rid of things I don't use. It Has the orginal burners with the tag still attached, and the two glass inserts. The glass inserts are marked"Fire king" on the bottom of each. They are in good condtion. I had this packed away for quite a while and it has some need for polishing. I started to do it the other day on the lids, but decided I will leave the rest up to the new owner. There are a few surface scratches from being packed away, but you don't see them unless looking close. I think this set is sliver plate. I don't see any markings. This is a great example of the fine quality work produced by William Durgin. The dish has a wonderful floral and vine motif that is deep and heavily hand chased repousse work on the lid. The handle has a nice leaf motif and fluted edge. This design element is repeated on the rim of the bowls as well. This is a great classical form. It is very function, by removing the handle you now have two serving dishes. There is no damage, it has some minor normal wear, a few small pricks as to be expected with silver of this age. Up for bid is a Vintage Copper and Brass Chafing Dish or Fondue Pot by S. STERNAU& Co. New York. It is 4 pieces and could be used as a double boiler as well. I believe it is missing the sterno holder. It is 12" high and 11" wide to the pot edges(not the handle) and the wooden handles are in nice shape. There are no dents but are some darker spots from age that some elbow grease may take out. It was hard to photograph as it is very shiny. I will be glad to answer questions. Up for your consideration is a beautiful antique/vintage unknown maker silver plate 4 piece chaffing dish and holder. I believe it is c 1900- 1940. It is marked on on a paper tag but it is not readable on one of the holders claw foot and their is a number 1144 on the inside of the holder. The holder measures about 6 1/2" high. 8 3/4" top diameter. The chaffing dish measures about 7 1/2" high with the cover on and 11" top diameter, 8" bottom diameter and 2 3/4" deep. The handle measures 8" in length. It could use a cleaning and polishing. It is in very very good antique vintage condition with just the normal scratching from utensils. Use, age and handling. Vintage copper coated fondue pot set which includes the pot with lid. Stand, fuel holder and copper coated tray/pan. All show wear as they should for their age but it is still a beautiful and functional piece. Surface scratches and one tiny dent near bottom of pot that is hard to find. Black metal stand has a little paint worn off of the top. Fuel holder is made from durable stainless steel and tray/pan is copper coated and has some scratches. Bottom of pot says Made in Japan. Measures 12 inches tall sitting on its rack and bottom pan/tray measures 8 1/2 inches across. Opening of the pot measures 5 5/8 inches across. You can use it either without handle or get a spare one. The copper dish is 8-1/2” in diameter. The enameled metal pan is 9-1/4” diameter, the copper lid has a wood knob. The brass& copper stand is about 11-1/2” across at the bottom, There is a copper bowl(no lid) for the candle or sterno(not included) There is a dent in the lid that I can see. The copper has some cleaning residue so will need a re-cleaning and the bottom of the enameled pan has a blistered look. There is some discoloration and scratches, especially on the stand. 10" tall 16" wide 11" deep The lid is 9 3/8" wide. The aluminum pot is 9 1/4" wide. The copper pot is 8 7/8" wide This is made with several different metals. There is a copper pot. A copper lid with a wood handle. An aluminum pot with a wood and brass handle with an iron bracket. A copper sterno snuffer.
