This is a Pulse-Echo cable test set which provides a visual indication of cable faults such as open circuits. Shorts, and bad connections up to 3000m(9500ft) on metallic cables. The principle of operation is that a pulse transmitted into a cable is reflected by any imperfection along the cable. Both the transmitted and the reflected pulse are shown on the display. The position of the reflected pulse is used to determine the distance to the cable imperfection.
