Antique Rolled Rose Gold Chains x2 16"& 26"L Vintage Victorian Edwardian Job Lot
Two antique/ vintage rolled rose gold chains in good used condition dating from around the later Victorian to the Edwardian eras. They are in good used condition with light wear to the rolled gold visible under magnification but still essentially bright and rose in colour. I have washed them and they are generally clean but the shorter fancy chain would benefit from a further light clean to get to the insides of the small links. The fancy bar and ball chain necklace is approx 16.5 inches long. It has a bolt ring clasp which matches in colour but is probably a slightly later addition to the chain. The long chain is approx 26 inches. The clasp has been added as a professional repair at some time; it is a solid 9ct gold bolt ring clasp which has been attached by a soldered jump ring. the chain itself is rolled gold) There are a couple of slightly ... morekinked links approx 4.25 inches away from the fastener end(see top chain in photo 4) these are not noticeable when the chain is being worn and could probably be straightened out easily. mixed lot of 10k 14k 23k diamonds emeralds watch opal & 2 broken chains apx 2 oz
Well its a long story however I'm going to give you the short version: I need to simplify. Get rid of the clutter and of course I need the money. The majority of this lot is 14k gold. 2 items are 10K; the pocket knife which as you can see weighed in at.4 troy grams and the opal ring. I had sold another pocket knife and was a little surprised at what the 2 sides of my knife fetched. The entire lot amounts to 2.5 troy ounces, however there isn't any way to measure the knife without dismantling it, so like myself, use your best guess. The fire Opal ring is pretty light weight so the balance is primarily 14k gold. There are 2 chains that became one big mess. I even took them to my favorite repair guy and he threw up his hands. Other than that everything else is intact with one other exception. I had purchased the rings for my husband ... moresome time ago. Turns out he's just not a jewelry guy. I pulled out the average sized diamonds from one of the rings in case I win the lottery and decide to have something done for myself. I'm throwing in my 23K note from Antigua because I can't tell you exactly what the gram total weight is. The quartz Cowerdins watch and it's band are 14k. I would estimate the movement to be in non troy measuring around 4 to 5 grams. You may be able to tell that I went through a phase of trying to find the perfect emerald ring. There are some lovely pieces here but I do not wear them. Except for the"Giants" earrings. The Antiqua note. The pocketknife and the 2 broken chains, everything is accented with diamonds. They are fairly small so I haven't counted them. I would say they are in the 5 to 10 point range however that is just my best guess. The smallest ones are the 2 on the opal ring.
