The leather straps are supple and the buckles are in good shape, however there is a bit of a musty odor to the leather. The Troll climbing harness is made in England. The belt is about 44" long in total; too small for me to try on as I have a 38" waist. I did take a close up of the only problem I found and that was on one side of one spike where the leather has a tear or been cut. The one is missing the foot strap which can be purchased on the Buckingham website. The leg pads show obvious wear and the leather straps show wear and have some age cracking. The gaffs have been re-sharpened at some time it appears. Model LC-5 16" The Rose manufacturing belt is in nice used condition. I was able to wear it and I have about a 34 waist with a belt hole or two remaining. Looks to be made of a heavy nylon or other material. Better than old leather! Buckingham Climbing Spike Set 9225 - Tree & Pole - Used
I picked these up at a local sale. They appear to have been well-used but are complete and functional. The metal parts are heavily scuffed and one of the straps has been replaced with a web strap. The other strap is leather. Both straps have buckles that function correctly. However, the web strap has a partial tear which has been repaired with wire and black tape. Also, 2 of the adjusting screws have been replaced. The spikes are sharp and measure 2.5" total length with a"sink-in" depth of 1" The spikes have a pin and I assume they can be replaced. If needed. This set has seen a lot of use. But appears to be in fully functional condition. The leather has stitching that is frayed, but not broken and all the rivets and leather loops are fully intact. Up for sale is a used set of Bell System Burgess model 1-83 climbing spikes/spurs. I really don't know a whole lot about these. I bought them off of someone on ebay over 3 years ago with the intention of doing some climbing to clear some trees on my property. I have had an injury that has kept me from using them. I loaned them to a friend. And he stated that they worked fine for him. I'm not going to be using them any time soon, so it is time to sell. These are used. And seem to be in decent condition. The leather is in okay shape, there are some cracks and a lot of dust and a little bit of mold on them(can be easily wiped off) The buckles all look like they work okay. I bought these brand new and paid nearly 300.oo for them and only tried them on never climbed with them at all bought them for hunting to get up to my many tree stands with out having to put up steps so thieves could not steel ... moremy stands. Also bought a Trophy line tree saddle to use them with. But an unfortunate accident that broke one of my legs and fractured the other left me not being able to climb so I am offering these up cheep. at a low starting price. I wish I could say they are new but being I camouflaged them with olive drab and tried them on I cant put them on ebay as new. But I will stand by my word to the buyer that when they get them they will see no signs of wear even the holes for the buckles are tight and no signs of wear on the leather all good padding and leather and rings and buckles are perfect. These are the long spiked ones for gripping into thick barked trees see pics. I dont know what else I can say for these but they are in perfect working order nothing to replace.
