Yard sale find! These are pretty nice- they show use but look well cared for. They come with little covers for the spikes that are held on with a velcro strap. I tried them on- the leg strap has thick padding and suede lining- very comfortable- the velcro is clean and works great! but I didn't go climb a tree) I can't find any problems or damage other than one of the leather foot straps is not the best. 13 years ago. My mother-in-law came to live with us. Recently widowed, she left her house as it was, came to Oregon and said she was never going back home. We told her we would pack her house up, pack EVERYTHING, and bring here for her to sort through at her pleasure. Her house was much like a museum. She was an avid and well known antique dealer and collector in Los Angeles in the mid to later 1900's. We moved over 700 boxes of items from her house. Along with many pieces of furniture. 1 of her pieces has been on the Antique Road Show. I built a 7000 sq. foot building to accommodate all her collections. She never opened a box. She died about 6 years ago. And we have just begun the process of going through the boxes ourselves. It is an arduous process. Some items will go to concession dealers. I purchased them at a garage sale from a ol' timer during a recent road trip to the Gold Country. Lake Tahoe Basin near Truckee, CA. The guy I bought them from was quite a character. he couldn't actually remember how long or where he got the Spikes but said they'd been around for a loooooooong time sitting outside in the weather. I couldn't leave them behind and just had to rescue them and now I'm looking for someone who would like to have some old Gold Country History hanging on their wall. No telling how many trees were fallen in the Tahoe area by a person wearing these. if they could only talk! I'm not sure of the model number of exactly how to size them. as they sit they measure 17" top to bottom. Without the extenders that slide on the shaft(these don't slide they are rusted) the shaft top to bottom is 14" if that helps to determine the model? The straps appear to be of heavy canvas.
