From what I understand, you cannot do both spindle speed control and 4th axis control simultaneously with only one parallel port- you have to choose one or the other, unless you have a computer with 2 ports. The axes are controlled by DC servos with encoders, and have a 2:1 belt reduction on them. It also has limit switches on every axis. The machine has seen very little use, and I hate to let it go, but I need the bench space for a different machine. You won't be disappointed with this little mill, as it is feature packed. I would add a cable carrier to the Z axis if I were to keep it because there are a lot of cables. Other than that, it is ready to set up and start making parts. We used it for tiny titanium parts and it worked great with the.5mm end mill we used. Don't miss the ever increasingly rare chance to own one of these special machines.
