The drum is a true Ludwig Vistalite RED. Made in the United States. This Drum has a Blue/Olive Badge with round edges. Serial number# 2008254. The RED Vistalite color is stunningly beautiful. The drum has small Ludwig lugs with a Classic Tom Tom mount. I hope the pi ctures I took cover all aspects of this drum. I am very sorry if I missed anything. There are no extra holes drilled. This piece probably dates to the late 1700s. Maybe the 1800s, but given the lack of any identifying marks or wear it is hard to tell. Blue John is a variant of fluorite which is only mined in Derbyshire, England. The mineral is barely mined today, only in one cavern and with the results being kept mainly for local use, making this piece as rare and collectible as it is lovely. The stone is variegated rich, dark purple with lighter, more translucent lavender. On one side is some other type of mineral inclusion in sort of a jasper-red-orange color, looks almost like a tree design. It's a quite small bowl, suitable for maybe a sake cup or green tea, but it's ... moreevery bit pretty enough for display. This piece is in great condition. There are no chips. Nice Old Antique Cobalt Blue Bottle w Dispenser Cup Top, "John Wyeth & Bro"
Here's an interesting old or antique mid sized bottle of the mid 1800's we received recently. This one is a nice cobalt blue color and has quite a bit of embossed detailing. On the bottom it has a patent date type mark. Difficult to read but appears to have the date 1899 or similar. This bottle is marked"John Wyeth& Bro" The glass top is a dispenser cup and has some markings on the top, This cup holds one heaping desert spoon full" On the side of the cup and at the top of the bottle are embossed numbers. The user aligned these marks after use to remind themselves of a specific hour take the next dose. There is quite a bit of information available on the internet about this manufacturer and their history. The bottle is in nice shape, no chips or crack noted, and while clean in appearance and some bottle enthusiasts ... morewill probably want to do a little extra fine cleaning. The bottle stands about 6.25 inches tall with cap in place and is 2 inches by 2 inches square on the sides. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. A Blue and White Transfer Ware Bowl by J. Marshall Boness. Pottery Bosphorus, circa 1855. The bowl, made in Scotland, is marked and measures 10 inches in diameter, 5 1/2 inches in height, 5 1/2 inches across the base. Although the base of the bowl has been reglued to the bowl, the detail of the tranfer ware is quite beautiful and considering the age of the bowl, is in nice condition. Purchased in Edinburgh in 1983.

Very nice 19th Century Minton Hawthorn Pattern Moon Vase Flask marked with an 1879 Cypher. Blue and White flowers adorn the vase which is 8 5/8" tall and approximately 6 1/2" wide. It weighs 1lb 7oz. This was recently obtained from an auction of English Antiques. The Bottom is impressed"Mintons and the 1879 Cypher that looks like a upsidedown triangle inside a larger triangle. This plate is of that deep flow blue style and color and has a mutil-paneled shelf which you can see at an angle to the light. It is part of a historic series done by Rowland and Marsellus Co.
