HP 8593E Spectrum Analyzer This unit is in great cosmetic condition, it is missing the bumper rails and the handle. I noticed a slight trace of rust on two steel screws on the back of the unit so I decided to pull the panel to have a peak at the innards. There is some oxidation on two of the circuit boards. It powers on with no hesitation and it stayed powered on for about 5hrs. It seems to function as intended and runs through the self calibration normally. After 5hrs. Power on tested and sold AS IS. This auction is for a pair of CATV testers, one Tektronix RFM151 and one RFM150 Signal Scout CATV Spectrum Analyzers for Parts/Repair. Both Power Up! This came in with a bunch of other test equipment, and seem to be selling great. I do not know how to test any of this equipment, so just to make certain, will be selling as a parts/repair lot only, even though they might work just fine. Some of the items we got in this big lot had some repair ... moretags on them, so I pitched those right away. These did not have any repair tags on them, so figured they were somewhat functional. Did not come in with any power supplies, but I did find a couple of power supplies that would work fine. It says it take a power source of 10- 15VDC, no more than 1.5A. The two I found were both 12VDC, one having 1A and the other having 1250mA. Not original, but will work. 1Amp gets a little warm, so might want to find power supply with more amperage. I plugged them into the units and it did power them up fine. I will include these two power supplies with this lot. These units are a bit dirty, so will have to be cleaned up a little once you get them. One is in a soft case(not the best, zipper hard to zip) and one is all by itself with no case. The one without the case(RFM151) seems to look a lot better than the other, not as worn out, but is missing the dial on the front. the other one has the dial on it) You can see the digital display of this one in pictures 8 and 10. Only flaw is one of the vertical plastic foot covers which is broken but the metal foot is whole, and the equipment does stand up vertically as well. It powers up but that was all the test I was able to do. I bought it from a reputable T&M dealer at the request of a Telecom service customer some 20 years ago. My customer went out of business and I have been hauling it across the country since then. This is a very nice Hameg model 5005-3 spectrum analyzer. I really like it but just found a deal on a full blown service monitor so I don't have room for both. Includes the spectrum analyzer and power cord only. I used it a few times for checking 2 meter ham radios and for testing amateur repeaters. It covers.15 Mhz to 500 Mhz. I have two of these units. one is an 8591e stock and has opt 41 the parallel and gpib as well as keyboard interface option and 004 the super stable timebase and of course the tg. Crt is good. the other one is in the same condition but a convert from 8591c to 8591e meaning the 75 ohm connectors were changed w 50 ohm connectors and the power on units were changed back to dbm. so now it functions as an 8591e. That one has opts 4, 41, 101 fast adc, 102 am fm demod/ video sync, and of course the tg and an excellent crt, for the same price the choice is yours. I am a bit flexible with option installations so let me know what you need exactly. since I repair and modify these for a living. I can make sure this one either has or doesnt have the tg when purchased. 800$ less if you dont need the tg. Then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual. this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most(if that) other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly. Overall the unit has no issues and comes with a right of return guarantee. For exchange for buy it now customers only. The process that I perform on my units would cost you at least 1500$ at any other dealer. Because I do all the usual calibrations plus all the adjustments.
