Tektronix 496P Spectrum Analyzer Good condition. Tested and operational. 1KHz to 1.8GHz A typical Tektronix 496P in good condition. Unit is operational. All controls functional. Good sensitivity, display bright, clear and focused. I am selling this for a friend and only basic checks have been done but it looks good and passes basic tests. I ran it for 24 hrs without problem, fan is strong and quiet, display solid. Pictures show calibration signal at 100MHz +20dbm after warmup using factory calibration port. Front and rear panels in good condition showing some wear but nothing serious. Handle works as it should, no missing parts, case in very good contion. This unit has the newer power supply version with better specs than the original model and no cap problems. Has push button plot capability, opt 1 which is internal YIG preselector filter from 1.8-21 GHz and input power limiter below 1.8 GHz& opt 8 which deletes the external mixer ability. Looks like this was Teks early bench competitor for the HP8566A. It is shown with an external 800 MHz signal from wavetek 2002 sweep generator that is included in this auction. Tektronix 491 Spectrum Analyzer 10MHz to 40GHz - vintage
Here is a vintage Tektronix 491 spectrum analyzer. It powers up and responds to signals(100MHz input shown) It does have a vertical position problem. The position knob will only move the trace about 2 divisions around the center. As shown with the input signal. The trace can go higher so I think most of the vertical deflection circuits are OK. It will need a little work to get running fully. May have other problems also. I just gave it this quick check. It's in clean condition for it's age. It does not come with a case or power cord(I used an extension cord) Or the little input module thingy that goes in the 12.4- 40 GHz slot. It's sold as-is. This auction is for a working Tektronix 1401a Spectrum Analyzer Adapter. This unit was designed to go with the Tektronix type 323 O-scope. But it can be used with any scope with X-Y input or will even work with just the external trigger input on most scopes. This little guy will make a great accessory to one of the now common DSO scopes. The 1401a was designed to run from a NiCad battery pack. Which long ago died and was removed from the inside the unit. The internal power supply is designed to charge the batteries and doesn’t want to run the unit properly by itself. There is a external DC power connection on the side(6-16vdc) input that I used to test with. It will run fine from a 12volt bench power supply. Or a new battery pack could be built. All dials and switches turn and flip as they should. None of them feel dead or weak. Manuals are included. They look like photocopies so I can not be sure if they are complete. These came from an estate that had an amazing amount of electronics. Gauges, test equipment, etc. The gentleman who owned it was a university professor and a lot of what he had has hand made. Tektronix 2712 9 kHz- 1.8 GHz Spectrum Analyzer. Yet another unit#3 unit has feet and a handle the handle is the 2710 style it has the Gpib port and tracking generator. All normalizations were recently run and passed the crt is clear and bright(sorry if the camera doesn't do justice) these normalizations are internal tests which were recently run and is in very good shape. I apologize for some of the pics from my camera this unit took me quite an effort and parts to repair but I felt the unit was worth it. I am sure many of the buyers of units that don't show the unit passing all the normalizations tests know just how dissapointing equipment like that is when they paid over a 1000$ for the unit!
