Then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual. this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most(if that) other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly. I’ve owned this analyzer for about 7 years. It has attenuator/switch issues. All of HP’s analyzers of this vintage used gold fingers on a gold plated circuit board and they would. Over time, develop contact issues. When I bought it all was working fine so I suspect that cleaning the fingers would restore operation but this is not a job for the faint-hearted; it’s not hard but a bit tedious and time consuming. I don’t know if you can still get a rebuild kit– if so that would be the way to go. Sometimes the LEDs around the display ... morethat shows Ref Level and amount of Attenuation may not read correctly due to the dirty fingers. If you can live with 10-20 dB of“deafness” then this is a bargain. It has seen very little use since I have another SA that I use most of the time.
