And that screen flashes on for maybe 5 seconds and then goes off for a couple, repeating that cycle endlessly. It is NOT responsive to the controls. There is a floppy disk in the drive. Just a disk, not a Stanford Research disk. So if it is supposed to boot up from the disk maybe it’s just the disk. But I don’t hear the drive ever make the familiar boot up noise. So if I(as a totally unqualified observer) had to speculate I would say it is more of an issue than just needing a new boot disk. Maybe just a new drive? So anyway. Maybe an easy fix, maybe the thing needs to be totally refurbished. It is sold for PARTS/REPAIR/REFURBISHING only. It is untested other than as described and NO warranty is offered. However. My re-conditioning includes replacing all the high voltage caps in the power supplies. I check the signal transfer from the RF input to the output of the 3rd Converter and replace any parts that have excessive loss on the RF deck. I check the operational parameters of all the circuit modules and replace any defective components. I disassemble the front panel and replace any defective push button switches and parts on the circuit board. Tektronix 2710 Spectrum analyzer with tracking generator, 10khz to 1.8ghz
This Unit was purchased new. By my wife, somewhere around 1990. It was a Christmas Present, so it was extra special, and has had very good care. I am in the Two Way Radio business, and I wanted something that could look at the bare spectrum and also tune cavities and duplexers. This was perfect for me. I used it for a few years and then bought some other more elaborate equipment, at which time this unit went on the shelf. I can tell you that it probably does not have more than 10 hours of service on it in the past 20 years. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, with the original user manual. The screen is bright, all the controls work, and it seems to be in excellent conditon, overall(look at the pictures) As with any piece of electronic equipment that is old. There are no warranties, other than it is. Certainly working now. And I will double ... morebox the unit for shipment. But, it is old and I would not want to misrepresent its status. This would make an excellent spectrum analyzer for a hobby person who wants the good stuff. And doesn't want to buy new or a two way service shop that wanted another spectrum analyzer. Lumen Satellite Spectrum Analyzer
I bought this brand new 28 years ago and for alot of money from Echosphere corp now know as Dish Network. Back then we were putting in C band satellite systems with LNA's in the 3.7 to 4.2 ghz range. This was a expensive piece of equipment and was allways handled with care. Having this spectrum analyzer was a huge advantage back then because it allowed one person to peak the dish outside vs two people using head phones which often turned into shouting matches. A small 12 volt battery was strapped to the case so no extension cords were needed to power it. Wow. We also used this to locate and shield terrestrial interference from the Dish.This unit powers up and the crt lights up fine but I do not have a Lna to test it complete.
