This machine is configured to be used as an 8922P. Using an external converter. To accomodate this configuration, the attenuator that is normally in the RF IN/OUT path is bypassed. Without the 83220 converter connected, the machine displays a warning to the operator that the converter is not connected and the 8922 by itself cannot handle the input power expected from a cellular telephone under test. Notwithstanding, the 8922M understands that the 83220 converter is not in the signal path and the levels are accurate. This machine fully passes the power on self test. Then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual. this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most(if that) other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly.
