Here is a nice clean unit. And it appears to be ready to go. I have tested with signals of 20Mhz. 100Mhz, and 648Mhz and they are all right on frequency with flatness within 1.5db across the bands. I cannot test higher but I did look at the harmonics out of my signal generator and it will go all the way up to the high end of the frequency spectrum without any problems that I can detect. I don't do the tested with power on thingy. I give you a fair confidence check on every unit and an honest opinion. I cannot say this will work in every aspect of it's highly complicated capability. But I can say I would use it in my shop without hesitation. No cables. Display unit, power cable or loads come with this unit. It is the Spectrum Analyzer section HP8568B unit only. Agilent HP 3580A 0-50KHz Low Frequency Spectrum Analyzer Mouse over the photos to see whats happening. Since if a picture is worth a 1000 words I can be less long winded in my descriptions. Frequency range of 0-50KHz +30 to-140db range. 1, 3, 10, 30, 100& 300Hz BW. Quite usable as it is. But needs to be aligned and calibrated to bring it into the specified specifications. Amplitude is off a few db or more(1& 3 Hz BW's) and the 300Hz BW(3rd pic) the signal has a hump. Everything else works properly. It's on frequency and this has digital storage. The original battery pack was removed decades ago because it was basket case what with the ancient NiCd being very much dead and corroded. The corrosion fortunately stayed in the pack. Just add two 12 volt batteries and it'll be ready for field use again. The CRT trace is bright ... moreand sharp. Both handles are there and intact. There are no bent controls. The tuning knob is miraculously not broken but the tab on the sweep time/div knob is broken off again. For some unknown reason the cover over the CRT socket has a hole with a grommet in it.
