SICO Model 76 C.R. Bridge & Signal Tracer Superior Instruments Co
This is a used SICO Superior Instruments Model 76 C B Bridge and Signal Tracer. Includes attached electrical power cord and test lead. An old friend gave it to me years ago and been sitting in my closet ever since. You know how that goes. I enjoyed building my own equipment. Anyway. I do NOT have a manual for it. I do see that there's a CD available here on eBay but can't vouch for it. Tested it as far as I could without a manual and here's what we got: 1. Power on and warm up results in a green doughnut in the window. 2. 100 uFD@ 50V Electrolytic Cap- Doughnut opens up at the bottom as variable selector is turned. Widest gap around 90 uFD. Pressing"Leakage" test button results in"Leak Indicator" lighting up. I tested it on my tester and it showed around 200 uA leak. 3. 01 uFD@ 150V Ceramic Disk Cap- Doughnut ... moreopen up widest at.011 uFD measurement. Leakage test- light flickers when pressed then stay off. 4. 100 ohm@ 1/4 watt Carbon Resistor- leads swapped to Resistor Test) Doughnut light gaps widest at 95 ohms or so. That's all the testing I did on it. I did NOT test the signal tracer portion so one should assume it is non-functional. I truly don't know if it works or not. If it works ok. You made out. There are some paint splatters on the left side and front. I removed many, but not all, with my thumbnail. I think a plastic scraper would clean it up, but assume that it won't for bidding purposes. That's about it. Overall. I think it's it's a pretty nice looking/functioning vintage unit. I don't know much more about it but if. You got a question, I'll do my best. Shipping price is set at COST. Superior CA-11 vintage Signal Tracer in wood box. Overall this shows very nice, inside is clean showing no real wear, the wood probe looks great as does the original cloth cord, the box is solid but appears as though it may have been re-finished sometime in its past, old nicks and scratches appear to have been varnished over, there is one area on the back near the hinge where part of the wood is missing and it looks to have an old split in the wood, there is also and area on the front of the lid that appears to have a split- this does not go all the way through and may only be superficial, none of these splits have affected the integrity of the wood, there are also a few newer nicks and scratches- see pics, all the old defects and the finish really give this a very nice vintage appearance, measures approximately 7" by 6" by 5" ... moretall, this is untested and sold as-is for its collectibility. I know it works, I have used it some years ago, and it's been stored well. The green tube lights, the speaker works. I cannot vouch for perfect calibration, but there is a dial for frequency, and range setter, and with an oscilloscope you can set an accurate tone. It has a RF radio frequency input, with a probe, and an audio input. It also features a watt meter load input. I've restored it 95% Here's what I've done: Changed the obsolete capacitors with brand new ones; Added a new 3-prong grounded cord and fuse; Replace the defective volume pot; Cleaned the cabinet; Cleaned all the pots and switches; Tested tube and replaced several weak ones. The Signal Tracer works and passes audio. The only thing that doesn't work(the remaining 5% of the restoration) is the meter. This makes a very cool vintage guitar amp.
