1930's Undated Vintage Photo Postcard QSL Card old Ham Radio Unique Photo Postcard features large photograph of the senders Amateur Radio Ham Equipment. With a smaller inset photo of the sender. Although the card is not dated or postmarked. You can tell by the type of equipment and the surroundings in the room the photo was taken in, that is was the early 1930's We had a lot of fun finding all the little nuances in the photograph. From the pull down shade over the curtains, the style of wallpaper, the stack of well worn magazines piled under the desk, and even the style of the desk and drawer pulls, and what most likely is a framed Radio Operators License on the wall. The small inset photo of the man in the bottom left corner. Is also a good indication of the age(check out the hair cut and hair style) There is no writing on the card ... moreother than the Ham Radio call letters"W2AEW" written across the top left corner. The back(address side is also blank with no writing) CONDITION: Although this photo postcard has sustained some wear and damage. It is still a treasure trove of historical information. Looking at the front(photo side) of the QSL Card, there is a small dot in the top right corner, even under magnifying glass it appears to be a pin hole, but it does not appear on the back side of the card. There is a pinhole in the top center, which sustained some damage around that area, and a small ding along the center bottom edge, from a thumbtack(push pins" did not exist in those days) The bottom left corner has a crease, although not torn and intact. The remaining three corners show very slight signs of wear, and are undamaged. Both the front and back does have some smudging. Probably dust and dirt collected from being displayed. Vintage Astatic 200 S Harp Microphone stand &cord or Vintage Ham Radio Mike Hi Z
This auction is for one Astatic Microphone with stand and cord as pictured. All original nice looking original chrome and gold metallic paint. May need cleaning or other parts to work properly. I don't have a proper way to test this mic but did check continuity my multitester at the end of the cord/plug. When the switch is on my digital mutimeter shows about 1.100 ohms. With the switch pushed down in the off position the reading is 0.6 ohms. I believe this is DC resistance. I am not promising this mike will work, but I do promise it is as described. All original except the red plug. Sold as is. As was, with a few bruises and scratches as pictured. Never the less makes a great looking display piece, will need some cleaning up. Up for sale is something unusual– a silver metal window for a microwave waveguide tube. From the 1950’s. From the estate of an electrical engineer who did microwave/ radar research for the government, this window is a 4-3/4” dia. brass plate with a sheet of pure silver metal bonded to it, with the brass machined away to leave 2 rectangular windows of the silver(which I was told is transparent to microwaves) Weighs just over 15 oz. I estimate there is 1.5 oz of pure silver here, but will cost more to machine off the silver than the silver is worth. If you experiment with or collect early radar/ microwave/ klystron/ magnetron items, this may fit into your collection. VINTAGE RETRO ROCKABILLY SHURE 55SW MIC MICROPHONE MUSICIAN SINGER CB HAM RADIO This vintage Shure microphone shows normal signs of use and has some scuffs and scratches. It looks like it was set up for use with a CB home base or HAM radio. The plug on the end of the cord has four pins and the mic is mounted on a Shure S36 base. Since I don't have a radio to test the mic with. I could not test the(Press) button below the mic. I did use jumper wires to connect the three pins on the bottom of the base to my PA system and the mic works and sounds great. The on/off switch does not work, the mic is always on. When I tried to jumper from the end of the cord to the PA there was a loud hum, so the cord may have a short in it. The cord is an Amphenol brand. The felt padding inside the mic housing is deteriorated and needs replace. The diaphragm ... moreunit moves inside the mic housing. Not sure if it needs something inside to hold it in place, or if that is how the mic is designed. This vintage Shure microphone will be great for use with a radio, recording studio, on stage or as retro décor. Overall this Shure 55SW mic is in good condition.
