Here is a nice big capacitor from General Electric- 25 uF at 4000 Volts. Great to a transmitter power supply filter. I think this is fairly late production. Probably 1970s. 9 by 3 by 4 inches or so! Sangamo 1.6uF 60kV High Voltage Capacitor
Sangamo high voltage capacitor. 11x14x25 inches, value is 1.6 microfarads at 60,000 volts, weight is approximately 180lbs. These are assembled in a heavy steel casing. This is what we call a“killer cap” Used in energy discharge work. They have approximately 20 nanohenry ESL. They can be discharged in tens of nanoseconds, if the circuit is also low inductance. That is the reason for the coaxial type connection on the top. They also have low ESR. They will store approximately 2880 joules. The discharge of these can be very dangerous. Both from a high voltage stand point, and the mechanical forces on conductors if they are not designed right. Please state in a message that you understand the risks in using these.
