Church Roof Trusses-- reclaimed historic timber frame beams
These trusses came from the dismantling of a small church. They are impressive. And their future can be imagined as a new residence. An inspiring studio or workshop, a restaurant or commercial building, 2 or 3 great rooms, a pool enclosure, an open air pavilion, perhaps even a new church! The trusses’ timbers are of a high grade of Douglas fir. And they are large…8x12 x 24’ 8x10’s, and 8x8’s. They were originally planed, chamfered, and precisely fitted as they were fully exposed to the interior of the church. They will make a truly inspiring space in their next life. There are some blemishes and small scars from the dismantling process which could be touched up and the trusses reused as is. Another possibility is the refinishing of the timbers to reveal the naturally warm tone of the old-growth. Fine-grained Douglas fir. In this case the ... moresteel might be sandblasted and painted, perhaps black, to contrast with the wood. The steel, although originally painted brown to blend with the color of the stained timber, is an interesting feature in itself to compliment the heavy timber. One of the scissor chord timbers is split along part of its length. I will repair this at buyer's request prior to shipping. Vintage Lincoln Logs Lot of Roof Pieces Includes the following: 20 green roof planks/slats that are approximately 6 inches x 3/4 inches. Notice in photo that 3 planks are slightly shorter than the others. Most are 6-1/8 inches. Shorter ones are 6 inches. 2 red roof brackets/supports/trusses. These are about 8.5 inches wide there are some minor nicks in the plastic that do not affect performance. 2 yellow chimneys. They are a little different from each other. One looks newer with more defined texture and fits the roof angle better. Condition notes: These are in used and played with condition. They are 30-40 years old. Hello. And thanks for looking. Please excuse any not-so-great pics; still getting the hang of it. This is a very nice lot of promotional mailings from William S. Rice Inc. in Adams. NY, promoting the Rice Rupture Method. apparently trusses that it claimed cured rupture discomfort. It consists of two mailed envelopes, onbe from 1939, the other from 1927, both addressed to the same addressee in Carlisle, PA. They include letters with great period letterheads, appointment and referral cards, a referral sheet, and a quite large folded sheet of testimonials. Also included is a stapled sheaf of catalog pages illustrating the various models and types of trusses available. Overall very good shape. L@@K Reclaimed Wood Scissor Trusses 4/12 Pitch 30' x 60' Pole Barn Shop Shed
This is kind of a difficult listing to create. So please bare with me. Let me start by explaining the situation. I contracted a job cleaning up a private property located in Springdale/Zion Natl. Park Utah. Th ere were/are 6 buildings on said property( 2 homes. 4 shops) One of the 2 homes is/was a double wide trailer with a pitched roof on it. Long story short I decided before I demolished the houses that I would remove all of the sheet metal roofing. Being as it was beautiful 24 GA metal with only 5 penetrations through it( 12" stove pipe. 4" water heater flue pipe and 3. 2" sewer vents) Long story even longer. I got the roofing off and found these beautiful manufactured scissor trusses. The trusses are in excellent used condition. No water or bug damage. The mobile home is a 24' x 60' and the trusses hang over 3' ... moreon each side. So they are approximately 30' wide. There are 32 trusses in all. The pitch is 4/12 on the top/roof side. I don't know the exact rake on the bottom/ceiling side. I'm guessing about a.5/12. Maybe a 1/12, the trusses are 6 to 8" above the center of the trailer. The trusses only touch/attach to the trailer on the exterior walls. Makes for easy. Clean removal, cut the 6 nails on each end with a sawzall, cut the blocking out with a sawzall or steel cutting skil saw. This way no nails will need pulling. There will be no woo d damage. No nails sticking out. Ready to fly onto your roof. There is alotta stuff to talk about. And I would rather do it over the phone or in person.
