OK.This should be interesting. Up for auction is a vintage Hewlett Packard 200C Audio Oscillator and Poster. The 200C is untouched except for the power cord. Looks like the power cord has been replaced. I have not attempted to turn it on because I am sure the electrolytic capacitors would be damaged. This would need to either have the electrolytic caps replaced or brought back to life slowly using a variac. My plan was to restore it and have it as a display piece in my shop. The item that really makes this action interesting is the 25 X 25 inch framed advertising for the original HP 200B that put Hewlett Packard on the map. This poster was professional framed and hung in an HP Sales Office. I won't say which one. I worked for HP for 18 years and have had the honor of meeting both Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard. Probably greater than the specification 3% On the highest frequency range and over 3V RMS output the waveform shows significant distortion. The original“oval” mains socket on the back has been replaced by a“Kettle” type socket. This is a very practical modification. And has been well performed. The nicad battery pack was dead. And used four very expensive 6.25V batteries. I have replaced these with a pack of AA Nicads internally(The batteries are necessary for the PSU to run) I will include the original battery clamp with the instrument. HP 654A Test Oscillator Up for auction is an HP 654A Test Oscillator. This thing is handy as it has selectable output impedances. Making it useful for testing transmission lines. I have tested this guy and gotten clean signals across the ranges and frequencies. Unfortunately the x1M range does not work. It simply stops outputting when switched to that range. It's likely something simple preventing it from going that high. Regardless, this is a great cheap signal generator with the potential to be a great one if someone has the time to calibrate it and find the issue with the x1M range. Payment is due within 24 hours.
