SICO Model 76 C.R. Bridge & Signal Tracer Superior Instruments Co
This is a used SICO Superior Instruments Model 76 C B Bridge and Signal Tracer. Includes attached electrical power cord and test lead. An old friend gave it to me years ago and been sitting in my closet ever since. You know how that goes. I enjoyed building my own equipment. Anyway. I do NOT have a manual for it. I do see that there's a CD available here on eBay but can't vouch for it. Tested it as far as I could without a manual and here's what we got: 1. Power on and warm up results in a green doughnut in the window. 2. 100 uFD@ 50V Electrolytic Cap- Doughnut opens up at the bottom as variable selector is turned. Widest gap around 90 uFD. Pressing"Leakage" test button results in"Leak Indicator" lighting up. I tested it on my tester and it showed around 200 uA leak. 3. 01 uFD@ 150V Ceramic Disk Cap- Doughnut ... moreopen up widest at.011 uFD measurement. Leakage test- light flickers when pressed then stay off. 4. 100 ohm@ 1/4 watt Carbon Resistor- leads swapped to Resistor Test) Doughnut light gaps widest at 95 ohms or so. That's all the testing I did on it. I did NOT test the signal tracer portion so one should assume it is non-functional. I truly don't know if it works or not. If it works ok. You made out. There are some paint splatters on the left side and front. I removed many, but not all, with my thumbnail. I think a plastic scraper would clean it up, but assume that it won't for bidding purposes. That's about it. Overall. I think it's it's a pretty nice looking/functioning vintage unit. I don't know much more about it but if. You got a question, I'll do my best. Shipping price is set at COST. Includes a COPY of the Assembly Manual which contains a schematic and parts list and a built-in probe. The probe has been modified. Instead of a single probe with a AF/RF switch. There is 2 separate probes, one for AF and another for RF, that are plugged in the end of the cable When a signal was applied to the test probe it could be heard from the speaker and the green eye did close, on both probes. The unit also have another quirk- the speaker works in the off position of the speaker switch(wired wrong? The unit has not been calibrated nor checked for accuracy. Up for bid is a used EICO Multi Signal Tracer Model 145. The unit looks to be complete and is in nice overall condition. Includes a working test probe and a COPYS of the Instruction& Assembly manuals. Which includes a schematic and parts list. With the unit on and the gain set to minimum, a loud hum could be heard from the speaker. When I applied a signal to the input using the test probe, the signal could be heard at the speaker and the sound increased as the gain increased. I've restored it 95% Here's what I've done: Changed the obsolete capacitors with brand new ones; Added a new 3-prong grounded cord and fuse; Replace the defective volume pot; Cleaned the cabinet; Cleaned all the pots and switches; Tested tube and replaced several weak ones. The Signal Tracer works and passes audio. The only thing that doesn't work(the remaining 5% of the restoration) is the meter. This makes a very cool vintage guitar amp. Powers up and we hear lots of noise when the probe is touched and the tube is lit.We really do not know how to use a Signal Tracer, but the seller said it worked fine and we guarantee this as we do all other items that we say are working. Seems to be in nice condition with the front being very clean and any scratches being on the sides, back or bottom.
