Metro Style Rolling Display Rack Dump Bin
I have 2 of these These display bins measure approximately 66" Tall x 24" Wide x 22" Deep. There are 6 units on the display that are approximately 9" deep each. The unit is on wheels. There is some tape residue on the units from taping signs on them but overall they are in really good shape. They are a great way to display several items in a small area. The top 5 bins come off the unit so you can make it any height you want. The bottom one has the wheels attached to it. This is not one of those cheap units that you see out there. This is a quality unit. I have listed for local pickup only however if you want to send a truck in to pick them up. We can shrink wrap them on a pallet. Thank you for looking into our auction of a LIONEL TWIN BIN DUMP CAR NO. 335955. This is a used train car that has been in storage for many years. This was bought for me in the 1950s. And was used on a train platform until after I went off to school in the mid 1960s. The gate on one side of the car does not seem to spring back like the other side of the car. Otherwise, the car is still in fine condition, and we are sending the controller switch and track connector that came with the car, as well as the instructions that came with the car. There is a lever at the ends of the car, to adjust the way the that section of the car sits on its frame- whether it is in a dump position, partly open or fully closed and upright. Operating lionel MPC era bin dump car 6-9304 C&O with bin
Car is tested and operates just as expected. Comes with the original track-side bin. No box. So it may not be a good candidate for collectors. That being said, the car is in excellent condition, has light play wear on the wheels and rolls extremely well. There are a lot of these out there with broken pieces. This one has no broken pieces. The single operating coupler functions well and does not open up when used in the middle of a long train, even when it has no load. My intent is to provide this Lionel classic to an operator of O-Gauge trains, however, Ebay policy dictates that I must sell it to anyone. It has scratches and obvious play war, but it is between 73 and 83 years old. I hope I can look this good when I get that age. But I think these Pre War cars with their extensive external details such as the railings, ladders, and brake wheels look great with Post War equipment. It has all four wheel journals that look to be copper. Both of the locking mechanisms at each end are there and seem to work to lock the dump bin in place, although one might need to be bent in a bit to make it function better. Vintage Lionel POSTWAR O/BOX& insert 3469 POSTWAR DUMP CAR W/BOX with a large bag of Lionel coal- the bag might be split because it is in a plastic bag o.k. your are also getting the coal& 160 coal dump bin bin- CAR( the wheels needs cleaning from just sitting in the attic) the car- box- insert are in good condition-The Operating Coal Unloading Car No. 3469 would unload coal into the line side bins with the use of a No. 6019 or UCS track section. This opeating car would replace the No. 3459 in 1949. And would continue in production until 1955. It is of all metal construction, with the top dump bin made out of aluminum that is painted BLACK with WHITE heat-stamped lettering, and it has brake wheels on each end. During the years that it was being produced this car was a frequent set component.
