Vintage WEST VIRGINIA ? Glass Bowl Blue Gold Trim 1950s & Salt Shaker & utensils
Vintage WEST VIRGINIA Glass Bowl Aqua or Light Blue Gold Trim 1950's I believe this is West Virginia glass. The bowl is thick and very heavy(weighs almost 4 pounds! Frosted glass in aqua or light blue color. Gold rim is in great shape. The bowl is large and measures 10 1/2" across and 6" tall. No cracks or chips. Matching salt or pepper shaker is about 4 inches tall. Metal top is in great shape and the gold trim is great. There are a few small marks on the frosted glass on both items. Also included are 2 serving utensils. They are clear plastic with gold flecs. Both measure about 12 inches long. They are a little scoffed but in over all great condition. No chips or cracks. The Homestead Virginia Hot Springs Reed Barton Silver Soldered Water Pitcher
This sale is for a silver soldered Reed& Barton water pitcher. The pitcher is marked on the bottom Reed& Barton Silver Soldered 300 2P The Homestead. I believe this is in reference to The Homestead Resort of 7696 Sam Snead Highway Hot Springs. VA 24445, which was originally opened in 1766. The resort was consumed by fire in 1901 and rebuilt and re-opened in 1902. I do not know the age of this pitcher, or how to find it. The side of the pitcher has an image of a fountain inside of a shield and says Virginia Hot Springs. The lid is functional but has a small amount of play when it is opened. There are a few dents. And some scratches. There is another bit of wear which I am unsure of what it is, which can be seen in the last two listing pictures. It is some sort of sloping line that goes around most of the piece ending under the stamp ... moreor engraving of the fountain. The pitcher has thick walls. I suppose it may be insulated, but I am not sure. The inside of the pitcher is very dirty with some staining. The inside dimensions are approximately 5 and 3/4 inches by 2 and 3/4 inches. The pitcher stands approximately 8 1/2 inches tall to the top of the closed lid, and is about 6 1/4 inches at it's widest point including the handle.
