Trip is approximately 4 hours long. About your guide: Jeff Elliott grew up flyfishing since the age of 7. He started learning on some of the notable limestone trout streams of the Chambersburgh. PA area, the Falling Springs, Yellow Breeches and Letort. Most of his skills were picked up on the Conococheague Creek, which flowed through the family's back yard. He caught trout, smallmouth bass, rock bass and sunfish on the stream. He learned from his father wildlife artist, Bill Elliott, as well as some of his fathers famous friends, namely Lefty Kreh. The mirror is in very good condition and has had one minor repair done by my dear loving grandmother, aunt Martha Cannary, who is no longer with us. Grandma loved this mirror as she could watch her every fleeting moment of youth expire. Grandma's repair doesn't take away from the lovliness of the piece. You are bidding on a TEN CENTS note from the Corporation of Winchester. VA. It is dated July 15, 1861. Hay(or wheat? and farming tools are shown in the center. A bucksin clad hunter stands on the left. This note was authorized by Act of Assembly, and is payable in Virginia Bank Notes by the Treasurer to the Bearer. Printed entirely in Green ink. The back was not printed. Hand signed by: Coffrith and Bowen Printed by: Lucas and Sons. Baltimore On March 2. 1865, Waynesboro. In Augusta County was the site of the last battle of the Civil War for the Confederate Lt. General Jubal A. Early. The Battle of Waynesboro lasted only 20 minutes. And was a final blow for the Confederate Army in the Shenandoah Valley. After losing this battle. Early relinquished the town and the valley to General Philip Sheridan. Other names are William Amis and John Puryear[Granville, NC] The connection isn't clear, but William Amis appears as the executor of Archibald Clark's estate in 1831. Joyner Library. East Carolina University has a large portion of related papers and their website has a description of the parties involved. It notes that they were all planters and slaveowners. According to the 1830 census, Puryear owned 63 and Clark owned 33. Primarily early 1800s-1830s. A couple 1840s. A few mention Mecklenburg[VA] and one notes Granville. Includes tax. Set of salt and pepper shakers. Both are in good condition. The shakers measure 3 1/2 inches tall and approximately 2 inches wide. There are five holes in each shaker. Both have plastic stoppers. These yellow shakers are shaped like tea or coffee pots. So cute! Each shaker has a picture of Natural Bridge Virginia with Natural Bridge, VA writtne across the picture. 6 Piece West Virginia Advertising Lighter/Rule Lot Zippo Penguin Barlow WV W.Va
Up for your consideration today. Is this great lot of advertisment pieces from various parts of West Virginia. There are 4 cigarette lighters, and two pocket tape measures(although while one tape is not from WV it has ths state on it) Two of the lighters and both pocket tapes are zippo brand. The other two lighters were made by penguin and barlow. The barlow is very similar to a zippo slim. So similar in fact, that the inserts will change between the two. The two zippo rules appear to be new and unused, but I can't verify this. The box insert for the older rule wants to come out when you try to remove the rule, so it is loose from the outter box. All of the lighters are in some variation of used condition. The Baird hardware zippo has a broken hinge barrel. And a somewhat weak cam spring. The hinge on the Esco is loose, but it looks to ... moreme like it just needs a new pin. It is a very nice ligter, even it its rough shape, because it is double sided. The design on the penguin is starting to show wear, but it is still able to be read. The barlow is in good shape. All of the lighters may have a stuck flint and need some form of cleaning, but I am leaving that to the new buyer. This would be a great lot for a west virginia memorobila collector. Or a zippo/lighter collector, or perhaps someone that worked for one of these businesses.
