38.5mm(exactly dollar-sized) Issued holed and suspended from a brass hanger with the date"1896" In German. Shows the old 1846 church building as well as the Texas Lone Star. When these Germans decided to settle in Texas. They may have thought it was a country, not a future state. I believe I sold one of these on eBay a few years ago. Without the hanger but probably also holed. I think I sold for a little under $100. I think this is cheap, because this is a prime German-American piece and a great piece of Texas history. It was founded in 1892 in Gurdon, Arkansas, USA by five business travelers who were returning from a meeting of the Arkansas Yellow Pine Manufacturer's Association, and had to wait several hours for their connecting train. They were joined by a local businessman. The first name suggested for the new organization was Ancient Order of Camp Followers, but the name Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo was selected instead. Beautiful Authentic Arrowhead Nice 4 3/4" Texas Point Excellent Cond.
This is a great arrowhead that I got from a customer at the auction gallery where I work. The customer collected these over a lifetime and each piece is nicer than the next. This is a nice point that reads Texas along with a catalog? number. It is in excellent condition with no damage that I can find and it measures 4 3/4" These are authentic arrowheads that are terrific examples of flint mapping.
