This is a WWII vintage watertight lifeboat flare container that was stored in a lifeboat on merchant ships and warships. This container is made of heavy galvanized metal and has a cast brass threaded top without a gasket. The can is 5-1/4" in diameter and 10-1/8" tall(11-1/2" with top screwed down) The container was used to keep flares dry. However, you could put ammunition in it for the same purpose. There is a maker name on it of Sculler N.Y. name. No international sales for this item.

The seller is offering a very rare original Kodachrome slide of the German-owned Norasia Schiffahrt 1998-built container ship NORASIA SAVANNAH as shown in Singapore waters in August 1999. She was sold out of the Fleet in 2000. This remarkable sharp sunny view was taken from dockside with a 35mm SLR camera using a high quality 50mm standard lens. I can attest that this slide is devoid of marks. Scratches and blemishes as well as to its high quality, much better than this low resolution scan. One side of the rocket is open for the candy. There is a slit in the bottom of the rocket. From the estate of a 95 year old gentleman. This probably belonged to his children.
