Vintage Drawer Pulls-Set of 19 Cabinet Handles-Retro 1964 Metal Hardware
Up for auction is a set of 19 vintage drawer pulls. These pulls have a nice retro look and come complete with the corresponding screws. Each pull measures approximately 4 7/8" long and will extend 7/8" out from your drawer or cabinet front. There is approximately 3" between the screw holes in the back of each pull. These were an estate sale find. So I unfortunately don't know too much about their history. I have not cleaned these, but look as though they would shine up nicely. Vintage GF Mode-Maker Industrial Metal Night Stand Cabinet Mid Century Modern
For those of you familiar with the General Fireproofing Company's Mode-Maker line of steel office furniture. You already know how rare a find this is. It's hard enough finding ANY vintage Mode-Maker pieces in such excellent condition, let alone this, the telephone stand from that line. Designed by Raymond Loewy in the late 1940s, the GF Mode-Maker line of furniture was the most sophisticated and well-built line of steel office furniture of its day. The rounded corners, minimalist hardware, and curved cast aluminum feet made a statement of rugged modernity that holds up as a testament to timeless design even today. For auction. I am thrilled to present this near-perfect telephone stand. It is in its original gray painted finish with gray linoleum top. The cabinet is free of any dents or rust, and has only minor wear. There are a few ... morechips and scratches here and there; one is a more noticeable 1.5" scratch on the left side toward the back, and there is also a series of horizontal scratches on back(see photos) The linoleum top has some minor indentations(pictured) There is also a tiny serial number etched into the aluminum trim on top(also pictured) There is no key for the lock, but one could easily be made by taking the code etched into the top of the keyhole to a locksmith. The cabinet has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. And the exterior has been waxed to a glorious shine. The aluminum legs have also been thoroughly cleaned and polished. It measures 20" wide. 18" deep and 29" high. The top opening is 17.5" wide, 17.75" deep and 7.75" tall; the cabinet area is 17.5" wide, 16.5" deep and 12" tall. If you already have pieced together a vintage office full of Mode-Maker furniture but don't have the coveted telephone stand. Wait no longer! Otherwise, this would make a fantastic nightstand or small storage cabinet in any Mid-Century Modern or contemporary interior. This cabinet was well taken care of. Cabinet has 36 individual drawers. Cabinet measures: 13" x 13 1/2 x 6 1/4" deep. Drawer measures: 6" long x 3" wide x 1 1/4" tall. Condition: Paint loss in a few places. A dent in the back top portion. All drawers are in good shape. They have never been labeled, and are free of stains. We noticed 3 drawers have small cracks in the plastic, but they are still functional, this is expected for the age of this item. This is a great cabinet and will last for many more years.
