This is a very lovely and unusual repousse antique shoe box. These boxes were meant to sit on the fireplace hearth to hold shoes. Keep them warm, and to dry dampness. The outer box is lined with tapestry fabric on 4 sides(front, sides and top) The box sits on 2 pieces of wood which acts as feet and raises the box 1" off the ground. This box would easily hold 4-6 pair of shoes. I am not sure of the age, but with style and age factors on the metal and wood, I would guess over 100 years easily. It has XXVX(34) stamped on it around the lid edge near the hinge end. Italso has an ink stamp that I can't make out. Condition: There are a couple of cuts to the brass and some splits to the wood on the base and back of box. This is still a solid piece. It measures approx 2 ft long X 16” wide on lid. Interesting saltglazed stoneware fruit or storage jar. 12 sided with double collar lip. Jar is 7 1/2 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches across at the top. It has a dark brown interior albany slip. There is no embossing but the base has some unusual marks. Assume this jar was pressed in a mold of some kind. Don't know enough about it to say for sure. Unusual and attractive.

Never been used but has name written in the label inside bag hence advertised as used. Excellent condition. Comes with stuff sac and cotton outer sac. Extremely light weight this new range of bags from Rab utilises the new Pertex Quantum fabric(hence the name) for construction of the inner and outer which weighs a tiny 30g/m2. All bags are filled with 96% Polish Goose Down with an enormous 750+ fill power producing a bag with an excellent loft for it's weight.
