SUPERSCOPE MARANTZ TDR-830 8 TRACK PLAYER Recorder-Super Nice Cabinet & Panel
Up for sale is a very nice Marantz Superscope TDR-830 8-Track Player Recorder Deck in hard to find Black panel finish. I try hard to be as accurate as possible in my listings by providing large pictures(not phone photos in low light) as well as doing as much testing as possible. This unit is around 40 years old but is in great shape. The original owner took very good care of the unit and I see only one notable mark on the cabinet or face. It looks like there was another component or deck stacked on top and there is a slight mark from the foot of that component on the top right(see picture 4) I ran several 8-Track tapes from start to finish. All channels work well. Meters function properly, I did not see any burned out bulbs and tracks change properly. Pleased be advised that due to the inability to obtain good tape media, I did not test the ... morerecording capability so it may work or it may not. I also was not able to verify the operation of the Dolby function, again due to lack of tape media or lack of a previously recorded Dolby encrypted 8-track tape. The Dolby light does light up when the Dolby button is enabled. The tape counter does not work and the tape limiter stop does not work. The good news is that it sounds very good. As good as an 8-track can sound. I have an old Santana Abraxas Tape that I bought in 1970 and it was meticulously kept all these years. It sounded great on this player. Tracks changed properly, track indicators lighted, etc. And the unit looks fantastic. Note tape is not part of auction. I have seen all kinds of 8-track player/recorders listed on ebay and many of them have stuck meters. Broken buttons and burned out lights which are billed as outstanding condition. It is also hard to see scratches or dings in the wood without big bright pictures. I also test the equipment before selling and I am also careful to point out that old magnetic tapes lose their recording properties long before the 40+ years of age for even unrecorded tapes. Vintage storage cabinet on wheels- probably from the 1970's? Gorgeous marble top; my opening bid is less than what you would pay for just the marble. You have two open shelves on each side. And two shelves inside the door. This unit is very heavy, solid wood- but it has wheels to move it around. There are some minor surface scratches on the marble. Could probably be polished out, but the pattern is so busy you don't really see them. The last photo shows the back side of the unit. It is nicely finished. That is why I thought it could be used as a small, movable, kitchen island. Antique, post WWI, "White" Rotary Treadle Sewing Machine with cabinet
A beautifully crafted antique sewing machine. Nested in the original White Rotary ornate wooden cabinet. The machine head folds down into the cabinet and the leaf folds over the top making it into a compact table. The cabinet has all the woodworking detail, with curved drawers on each side with intricate handle pulls. The outside of the cabinet is painted teal green. The inside has the original stained oak as are the inner drawer surfaces. Some of the drawers and the top leaf have chipped wood and show some wear and tear. The sewing machine itself is a true retro piece of art, black with ornate gold swirling detail throughout. The original serial number, FR 2925176, traces the manufacturing to 1921 in Cleveland, OH The sewing machine base is the original solid iron, with the“White” logos. The cabinet, when sewing machine is closed, measures ... more34” by 18” and stands 32” high. When the sewing machine is set up and the tabletop is open, it measures 50” by 18” and stands 41” high. This gorgeous piece can be used closed as a side table, nightstand in a bedroom or right in the entrance-way to display a vase with flowers or a basket of house and car keys or recent mail! The door panel is 20” tall and 13” wide and the beveled mirror insert is 9 1/2” wide x 14 ½” tall. The latch on the door works perfectly and is secure. There are pre-drilled holes on each side panel for mounting brackets for shelves– there are no shelves included with this cabinet. But your local glass provider can easily cut them to size for you– the inside dimensions are 19 ½” tall x 12” wide. There is a cubby hole or open space at the bottom that is 6 ½” tall and 13 ¼” wide. If you need any other size information. Please ask. I have taken photos of all sides of the cabinet to show the paint loss and wear so please check them out. Most of the paint loss is at the bottom and the wood is bare. I love the detail work on the joints that are at the corners on the front of the cabinet– they fit together like a fine puzzle. On the inside bottom shelf. There is a discolored area which needs some cleaning– there was an old empty paper package from razors stuck there which I removed and wiped down.

About 1-7/8" high where they mount on the door. Holes are 1-1/4" apart to center. Portion mounted to the cabinet side is 1-1/2" long. Holes are 1-1/16" to center.
